How to see Stephen Mulhern, Diversity, Fleur East, Peppa Pig and Justin Fletcher at Butlins in 2022One of the best things about a Butlins holiday is that you get to see singers, magicians and other performers that you've actually heard of. A lot of rival holiday parks offer entertainment, but it's often a husband and wife folk duo who normally play the Crown and Anchor on a Thursday night. Butlins has released its list of the big name acts that will appear in Butlins Skegness, Bognor and Minehead in 2022. If you're canny, you can book a week where you get to see two acts rather than one. Shows for families (tweens, teens and adults)The big name performer that you're most likely to see during school holidays is Stephen Mulhern, who is a former Butlins Redcoat himself. I still associate him with CITV when he was presenting alongside Danielle Nicholls, who I was a big fan of (Ed: too much information, move on please...). He's doing about thirty shows during three school holidays in 2022. That includes five nights at May half term, most of August and six nights during the October half term. He's doing a fairly even mix of Skegness, Bognor and Minehead so if you book a week's holiday during those times then you'll probably get to see him. Dance-group Diversity are another big name coming to Butlins in 2022. They're doing 10 shows in late July and early August. If you're canny, you might be able to see Diversity and Stephen Mulhern during your holiday. For example:
The school summer holidays also see singer Fleur East performing at Butlins. She's performing four times at Bognor, and twice at Butlins in Skegness and Minehead. Again, there's a bit of crossover with other acts. If you want to see both Stephen Mulhern and Fleur East then you could book a week at Minehead which covers August 6th (Fleur East) and August 9th (Stephen Mulhern) Alternatively, you could see Fleur East and Diversity at Bognor if you book a week in mid-August. You'd see Fleur East on 14th August and Diversity on 18th August. Sam and Mark and Dick and Dom ("BOGIES!") are both appearing at Butlins in 2022. They'll be competing to see which is the most popular CBBC double act. Dick and Dom are doing 13 shows during the half terms in February, May and October. If you are visiting any of the Butlins resorts in the February or May half terms then you've got a good chance of seeing them. If you're visiting during October half term 2022 then they're only performing in Bognor Regis and Skegness. Sam and Mark are doing a total of 12 shows. If you're visiting any of the Butlins in May or October half terms then you should get a chance to see them. If you want to see both double acts, then your best bet would be to book Bognor or Skegness in October half term 2022 or May half term at any Butlins. The full list of dates are on the Butlins website on the Things To Do section. Other acts and shows which will appeal to families at Butlins in 2022 including a Transformers 'live character encounter', PJ Masks (I'm assuming it's a live show with dressed-up characters), Brainiac Live (a rather cool science show, based on the TV series) and Cirque De Hilarious. Shows for tots and pre-schoolersThere are some bargains to be had if you book a Butlins Just For Tots holiday outside of the usual school holidays. Of course, for lots of us that isn't possible unless you want a telling off from the headteacher and a fine from the council. Several Butlins holidays outside of school holidays are aimed at pre-schoolers, so the celebrities and performers are CBeebies and Milkshake favourites. Justin Fletcher is more famous than David Beckham in our house. He's doing three dates in March 2022, two dates in April 2022 and three dates in September 2022 at Butlins. He performs as Justin Fletcher rather than as Mr Tumble. Mister Maker and Rebecca from CBeebies are coming to Butlins six times in 2022. There's just one date in Minehead (in May), two in Skegness in September and October and three at Bognor in May, June and November. The show is a Mister Maker Live show, which includes 'arty inspiration' as well as singing and dancing. Peppa Pig is appearing at Butlins breaks across all of 2022. Let's hope your kids don't ask how Peppa appears in Skegness, Bognor and Minehead simultaneously... Other acts aimed at pre-schoolers which you can catch at Butlins in 2022 include Thomas The Tank Engine, Milkshake! Live, Nathan Connor and Dino Rocks. There's also a new pantomime of Goldilocks And The Three Bears. How does Covid affect Butlins shows? You may have some lingering uncertainty about live shows in 2022, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Butlins has spent big to give it the best chance of shows going ahead as planned. Bognor, Skegness and Minehead have all got new 'all-weather entertainment venues' which have '860 seats under COVID socially distanced guidelines'. The Reds venue in Minehead has also had a big extension so that they'll be able to seat nearly 700 people with social distancing in place. Previously it was more like 400.
