10 Best Caravan Holiday Parks And Resorts In Germany - 2025
Germany is fairly easy to each from the UK, and it's got a decent choice of good quality family holiday parks from big names like Center Parcs, Landal Greenparks and Roompot as well as independent holiday parks. Germany is famous for its impressive rivers, forests, castles and mountainous regions rather than its beaches. As you'd expect, cities like Munich and Berlin have plenty to offer whilst Cologne is famous for its Cathedral and Hamburg has a network of rivers and waterways.
If you want to take the car from the UK, you can get the Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle from Folkestone to Calais in 40 minutes and then it's a drive of about 3-4 hours before you cross the border into Germany.
The weather in Germany is very similar to the southern half of England, with the warmest weather in July and August. You'll find that May, June and September are also quite warm but don't expect anything warmer than you'd get sat in your back garden.
It's worth noting that you pay a tourist tax for staying at a holiday park in Germany. This is likely to cost a family of four about £20 for a week's holiday. We've tried to include it in the total price where possible.
For a rough price comparison, we looked for the cost of a week's holiday for a family of four in August 2025.

1. Center Parcs Park Bostalsee, Saarland (lots of activities, swimming pool, large site)
There are six Center Parcs in Germany, but we reckon Center Parcs Park Bostalsee is the best choice for visitors from the UK.
If you've got time on your hands, you can read our full comparison of all the Germany Center Parcs but Park Bostalsee gets the best reviews, it has plenty to do and it's reasonably price. It opened in 2013, so it's relatively new as well.
It's on the Western side of Germany so it's easier to get to than most of the other Center Parcs in Germany (5 hours drive from Calais). Customer reviews on TripAdvisor average 4/5, putting it on a par with the UK Center Parcs. It's worth being aware that Center Parks UK and Center Parcs Europe are different companies and our comparisons have found that UK parks are more consistent in terms of facilities and reviews.
As it's Center Parcs, you get a big choice of activities (about 100 at Park Bostalsee according to the official blurb) but bear in mind that you pay extra for a lot of things.
Price: £1617 for a week in a comfort cottage for a family of four in August 2025.

Center Parcs Top Tip: Booking via CenterParcs.fr is nearly always cheaper than CenterParcs.com for exactly the same holiday (often more than €100 cheaper for a week in summer). Your browser will translate CenterParcs.fr to English if you don't speak French! Read more
2. Landal Sonnenberg, Mosel, Western Germany (large holiday park, kids clubs, swimming pool, playgrounds)
Landal Greenparks has got 10 holiday parks in Germany and they're often seen as a good alternative to Center Parcs. Onsite facilities are ample and all 10 of them were scoring 4/5 on TripAdvisor when we checked.
Landal Sonnenberg in the attractive Mosel Valley region of Germany has a choice of mobile homes, two person apartments and bungalows. The cheapest option is usually mobile homes whilst bungalows are the most expensive but can be cheapest if you are travelling as a party of six or eight.
Landal Sonnenberg offers kids' clubs all year round, as well an indoor swimming pool, minigolf, climbing wall, treetop climbing area with zip wire, indoor play and a bowling alley. Much like Center Parcs, you pay extra for some things.
You can also camp at Landal Sonnenberg which is quite unusual for Landal parks.
Price: £1676 for a mobile home for a family of four people for a week in August 2025.

3. Roompot Eifelpark Kronenburger, North Rhine-Westphalia (indoor swimming pool, kids clubs)
Roompot is a holiday park company with more than 100 parks across Europe, including seven in Germany.
Roompot Eifelpark Kronenburger is probably their best offering for a family summer holiday in Germany, as it is well equipped with things to do and gets solid reviews of 4/5 from customers.
Onsite you'll find a small indoor swimming pool and sauna, kids' clubs, a playground, table tennis and several sports. You can hire bikes and explore the local area (Eifelpark is a national park in Germany) or there's a golf course nearby.
There's a restaurant and takeaway if you don't fancy cooking. The accommodation is bungalows, and you can drive from Calais in about 4 hours 30 minutes.
Price: £1349 for a week for a family of four staying in a bungalow in August 2025.

4. Landal Winterberg, Sauerland (good for large groups, swimming pool, watersports)
**Winner: best value holiday park in Germany**
The second Landal Greenparks holiday park to make our top 10 is Landal Winterberg.
In summer, it offers an unusual range of activities including water skiing and wakeboarding. You can also climb inside one of those big inflatable balls and run around like a hamster on water, if you feel so inclined.
The swimming pool is a good one for children as it's got rapids to get carried away in and there's a paddling pool for toddlers.
The park itself scores 4/5 on TripAdvisor (much like all the other Landal parks in Germany) but it is slightly ahead of most on Google reviews (4.3/5).
It's a great choice if you are attempting to drag the whole family on holiday, as some of the chalets and bungalows sleep up to 12 people. You'll have to endure Aunt Ethel's snoring for a week, but it can work out as a cheap accommodation option if you share the cost out.
Price: £1319 for a family of four staying for a week in August 2025 in a four-person chalet with one bathroom.

5. Landal Salztal Paradies, Harz (apartments, indoor and outdoor swimming pools)
The third and final Landal holiday park in our top 10 is Landal Salztal Paradies, which is in a mountainous part of Germany called Harz. It is smaller than some Landal sites with about 100 rentals (compared to 200 at some sites) but there is plenty to do and customer reviews are a solid 4/5.
During your stay you'll be able to use the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The indoor pool is a good one for children with things like flumes, rapids and a wave pool. Spa treatments are available nearby if you are happy to pay for them (and if you can get away from the children).
There's also a bowling alley, minigolf, ice skating rink, nature trail and one of those giant bouncing pillows which looks a bit like a bouncy castle without any ridges.
Most of the accommodation is apartments, although there are a small number of bungalows available which you can get if you book early enough.

6. Trixi Holiday Park, Saxony (waterpark, lots of family friendly activities, 10 hour drive from Calais)
Trixi Park is on the Eastern Side of Germany near to Poland and the Czech Republic, so it's a bit of a longer drive than some holiday parks on this top 10. If you can't cope with the thought of a 10 hour drive from Calais (I empathise) then you can fly to Prague from London in two hours and then drive for another two hours.
Once you finally get there, you'll find Trixi Park is a large holiday park with an impressive water park with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, waterslides, sauna and spa facilities. From what I can tell, the water park is run separately but guests get to use the facilities for one day and can pay extra to use it again.
Other facilities include archery, a large playground, kids' clubhouse with games consoles, bike and scooter rental, beach volleyball, guided hikes and bike rides, children's discos, pony rides and pottery activities.
It gets great reviews, with average customer scores of 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and similarly positive reviews on other websites.
The accommodation is mostly lodges/bungalows although they also offer camping.
Price: £1274 for a week in a holiday home for a family of four in August 2025.

7. Lindner Ferienpark Nürburgring by Hyatt (spa, great reviews, kids' clubs)
More astute readers will guess that Lindner Ferienpark Nürburgring is near to the famous Nürburgring race track, so it is a popular one with motor racing fans (it's less than 10 minutes' drive away).
It's another German holiday park which scores a very impressive 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and reviews are similarly glowing elsewhere. The park is run by big chain Hyatt under a brand called Joie De Vivre.
It doesn't have a swimming pool but it's got a good sized spa/sauna and gym, bike and Segway hire (those two wheeled things that businessmen in the USA ride around on), games room, horse riding, kids' clubs, indoor play and an outdoor playground.
The accommodation are described as 'villas' or 'holiday homes' . They are mostly two storey rentals that have nice modern interiors.
In case you're wondering, 'ferienpark' is the German word for holiday park. You're welcome.
Price: £1262 for a family of four staying in a 'classic villa' for 5 nights in early August 2025. A weekly price wasn’t available at the time of writing.

8. Tropical Islands Resort, Krausnick, North East Germany (huge indoor waterpark with adjacent holiday park)
Now this really is something unusual...
Tropical Islands Resort in Krausnick, Brandenburg is a former airship hanger which has been turned into 'Europe's largest tropical holiday world' or perhaps even the world's largest waterpark depending on which bit of marketing blurb you read.
It really is massive with enough space for more than 8000 people and about 500 staff. There are different zones themed around parts of the world with waterslides, fountains, rapids, huge swimming pools and a rainforest.
There are various rental accommodations attached to the site, including tents and lodges inside the dome and modern holiday park style accommodation outside (single storey static homes and 'nature homes'). There are also 13 restaurants and bars onsite.
Customer reviews of the Tropical Island average 4/5 on TripAdvisor.
Price: £1491 for a family of four staying in a family tent for a week in August 2025 (includes admission to the waterpark). This price includes breakfast and use of a shared toilet.

9. Roompot Ferienresort Bad Bentheim, Lower Saxony (swimming pool nearby, kids clubs)
Roompot's other holiday park in our top 10 is their Bad Bentheim 'Ferienresort', which is on the Dutch border in North West Germany.
It doesn't have its own swimming pool, but there are indoor and outdoor public pools nearby, which you can use for free whilst staying in the park.
The park is family-friendly with bowling, bike hire, minigolf, a playground, laser tag, indoor play, a sports pitch as well as a kids' club and entertainment programme.
Reviews are generally 4/5 and there's a big choice of bungalows and two storey buildings to choose from.
Price: £1153 for a family of two adults and two children staying for a week in a four-person semi-detached house in August 2025.

10. Schlosspark Bad Saarow, near Berlin (peaceful park, simple facilities)
**Winner: cheapest holiday park in our top 10**
Schlosspark Bad Saarow near the Polish border is in a scenic spot overlooking a lake. One of its selling points is that it is about an hour's drive to Berlin so it's a good place to stay if you want to see the city's art galleries, museums and other attractions.
It doesn't have the wide range of family-friendly activities onsite that you'll find at some of the holiday parks on this top 10, so it's probably best for people looking for a peaceful base for exploring.
The park has a playground and does offer fishing and watersports, but there's no swimming pool onsite and don't expect non-stop kids' entertainment.
Reviews are positive, averaging 4/5 when we checked. The accommodation is described as Scandinavian style holiday homes, with nice modern interiors.
Price: £1038 for a week for a family of four in August 2025 staying in an apartment with a terrace or a balcony.
