10 Of Wales' Best Caravan Holiday Parks - 2025
Wales has dozens of holiday parks, but we've picked out 10 of the best by looking at traveller reviews, location, price and facilities onsite. We've picked some from South Wales around Pembrokeshire, some holiday parks in Ceredigion in Mid Wales, some in Snowdonia and Conwy Valley/Denbighshire and Rhyl in North Wales.
My view is that Wales is generally a little bit cheaper for holiday parks than those in Cornwall and some other parts of England, so it is good for a budget holiday.
Our price comparison looks at a week in August 2025 for a family of four in the cheapest caravan available.

1. Barmouth Bay Holiday Park (Snowdonia) Indoor pool, mountain and beach location
**Barmouth Bay Discount Code: up to 7% off via this link with code AWRAF7**
Barmouth Bay Holiday Park is run by Away Resorts, which has about 25 caravan sites and lodge resorts across the UK.
Onsite facilities include an indoor swimming pool, an adventure playground and a sports court, but the main attraction is the local area. There's a wide open sandy beach two minutes walk away, or the mountains of Snowdonia in the other direction.
During the summer Barmouth Bay hosts outdoor cinema. There isn't a bar or restaurant onsite but there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the park.
Reviews are exceptionally positive, averaging 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.6/5 on Google Reviews - or 91% overall.
Most of the accommodation doesn't accept pets, although I did manage to find one dog friendly option.
The good news is that the beach next to Barmouth Bay Holiday Park is rated as 'excellent' for water cleanliness during summer. It's called Tal-y-Bont and it gets the highest rating possible from Natural Resources Wales (the equivalent of the Environment Agency in England). That means you can swim in the sea without worrying about what else might be floating in the water.
Price: £988 for a family of four staying in a 'comfort' caravan for a week during August 2025. You can upgrade to a lodge or a caravan with a hot tub.

2. Haven Hafan y Môr Holiday Park (Snowdonia, North Wales) Busy Haven park, kids' activities, indoor pool
**Haven's Offers: Summer 2025 from £215 + Christmas 2024/New Year from £99**
Haven has seven holiday parks throughout Wales, including three in the North of the nation and four in the South. One of the North Wales parks is Haven's Hafan y Môr Holiday Park, which is one of the biggest caravan parks in the UK. It is highly rated and gets review scores of 4/5 from customers on TripAdvisor or 4.4/5 on Google reviews - or 84% overall.
It elbowed its way into our top 10 holiday parks in Wales after a big revamp in 2019, which means it now has a very impressive range of activities and facilities. It was once home to Butlin's Pwllheli but has changed a huge amount since then. By my count, Hafan y Môr is the fourth biggest Haven in the UK.
As you'd expect from Haven it's a busy park in a prime seaside location, which is very much aimed at families. It has lots of onsite things to do to keep the little ones occupied. Facilities include a large indoor swimming pool with a four-lane waterslide and a splash zone as well as Nature Rockz, which is things like survival skills and bug hunts. It's also near to a Blue Flag beach.
There are nine places to eat at Hafan y Môr and nine playgrounds to spend time on (best to let your dinner digest first). It also has an 'adventure village' with things like mini off road vehicles, high ropes and boat hire.
You can bring dogs to Hafan y Môr. It even has a 'Bark Yard', which is a dog agility course and you can take your pet into The Coast House restaurant.
Price: £1075 for a family of four for a week in August 2025 in a 'Saver' two-bedroom caravan. There are five grades of caravan at Haven - read our comparison.
This is the price for a standard Haven holiday that gives you a leisure pass so you can use the onsite facilities. If you just want a base for exploring the area, then you can downgrade to a Haven Hideaway holiday at Hafan y Môr. That means you get accommodation and access to the restaurants, but you can't use the other facilities. It was about £200 cheaper for that option.

3. Haven Lydstep Beach Holiday Park (South Wales) Haven holiday park, indoor swimming pool, lots to do
There's a strong argument that Lydstep Beach Holiday Park is Haven's best caravan site in Wales. It scores very well in reviews, averaging 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor, whereas most of the Haven parks are more like 3.5/5 or 4/5.
However, it's usually more expensive than the other Haven parks in Wales and it gets booked up very quickly.
Haven considers Lydstep Beach Holiday Park to be ones of its smaller parks, but it is still well equipped and has the main things you want from a family holiday.
Onsite there's a simple indoor swimming pool, a climbing wall, kayaking lessons on the beach, fencing and target shooting (perhaps not advisable if your children have just had an argument over breakfast). There's also bushcraft and craft activities. Some of the activities are free whilst others are in the £5 - £10 bracket. Local attractions include The Dinosaur Park in Tenby (which even has a comedy horror trailer for the park...).
It's in a decent location with the Pembrokeshire Coastal Park literally on your doorstep if you pick certain caravans. Lydstep Beach is a dog friendly holiday park (which will either appeal to you or put you off depending on your point of view).
Price: £915 for a caravan for a family of four for a week in August 2025. It's a popular park and we have found that much of the August accommodation sells out many months in advance.

4. Parkdean Resorts Trecco Bay Holiday Park (South Wales) large resort, good swimming pool, loads of activities, beachside
**Trecco Bay Offers: Caravan holidays from under £109**
Parkdean Resorts has five different holiday parks to choose from around Wales. The highest rated with customers and the largest is Trecco Bay Holiday Park. The park is actually the largest of the 66 Parkdean Resorts sites in the whole of the UK.
Trecco Bay is in South Wales, about 40 minutes west of Cardiff. It had a revamp in 2021, with £3.5m spent on improvements and plans for further work.
It’s the place to go for a reasonably priced action-packed holiday, rather than the place to avoid people.
The bumper list of activities and facilities includes a good-sized indoor swimming pool, an outdoor splash park, a large playground, soft play, mini golf, archery, a climbing wall, hoverboards, high ropes, bungee trampoline and a sports dome. There are also crafty things like pottery painting and kids' clubs. Some of the activities are charged separately but I would say the prices are similar to what you’d pay off park rather than being overpriced.
The resort is really well located and has direct access to two different beaches – Newton Beach and Trecco Bay. Some of the posher accommodation overlooks the sandy beach. It’s quite a large site, but the furthest caravan from the beach is only about 10 minutes' walk so not too bad.
Customer reviews average 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.3/5 on Google Reviews. Larger resorts tend to get slightly lower scores than small holiday parks for some reason, so I’d say that’s a pretty good score.
Price: £989 for a week in a Coychurch Caravan for a family of four. That's the price for early August 2025 and doesn't include bringing pets or other upgrades.

5. Cardigan Bay Holiday Park (South Wales) indoor pool, near to the beach, 5/5 reviews
**John Fowler Offer: save up to 30% on last minute deals + use code EBIRD10 via this link to save 10% on Summer 2025**
Cardigan Bay Holiday Park ticks a lot of boxes at a very good price, so it deserves its place on our list of 10 of the best caravan parks in Wales.
In terms of location, it is right at the start of the Pembrokeshire Coastal path and only a few minutes' walk from the beach at Poppit Sands. It built up a good reputation for a number of years and was bought by the John Fowler holidays chain in 2022.
You get the main facilities that you want from a holiday park, including an indoor swimming pool with a retractable roof, restaurant, adventure playground and a bar. There's no kids' entertainer called Clive the Clown or anything equally ridiculous. However, if you fancy a nice indoor pool and a base for exploring Pembrokeshire then it is worth considering.
Cardigan Bay itself is about 3 miles away, which is famous for viewings of bottle nose dolphins. Most of the caravan accommodation doesn't allow pets, but I found a cottage within the grounds that would welcome your dog. Reviews are outstanding, averaging 5/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.7/5 on Google Reviews. That's an average of 97%.
Price: £1427 for the cheapest caravan (two-bedroom silver caravan) for four people for a week in August 2025. You can fit another two people in the lounge for the same price if you want to.

6. Golden Sands Resort (Rhyl) large resort in beachside location, sea views, indoor swimming pool, hot tubs
**Golden Sands Discount Code: up to 7% off via this link with code AWRAF7**
Golden Sands Resort is run by the same company as Barmouth Bay Holiday Park (see #1) and it offers a lot of the same things.
Location is probably its strongest point, as it is slap bang next to the beach. It's a pretty large site and about 50 of the properties for hire have a front row view so you could almost get your feet wet whilst sat on the veranda.
Some of the more expensive lodges have hot tubs and they also have accessible caravans for people with mobility issues and wheelchairs.
There's entertainment provided, and it's got an onsite chip shop, restaurant and a bar. For children, there's a playground, soft play and an amusement arcade. The swimming pool at Golden Sands Resort is indoors so you won't need to endure swimming in the sea (unless you particularly enjoy cold water). It's not a huge swimming pool but it's a good way to fill an hour on a wet day.
Customer reviews are positive, with an average score of 4/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.3/5 on Google Reviews - or 83% overall.
Price: £1027 for a two-bedroom caravan for a family of four for a week in August 2025. For about £50 extra you can upgrade to a three-bedroom caravan which sleeps eight, which would be good value for a larger family.

7. Haven Greenacres Holiday Park (Porthmadog, North Wales) Popular Haven park, beaches and mountains
**Winner: best value Wales holiday park**
Greenacres is the third Haven holiday park in our top 10. The main advantage of Greenacres over the other Haven resorts in Wales is its location. The edge of Snowdonia is a drive of about 15 minutes whilst a Blue Flag beach with sand dunes and a nature reserve is right next to the resort.
Much like Hafan y Môr it scores 4/5 from customers on TripAdvisor or 4.4/5 on Google reviews, or 84% overall.
It isn't quite on the same scale as Hafan y Môr but there's a simple and good-sized indoor swimming pool as well as an outdoor splash park. There are several places to eat, playgrounds, minigolf, bowling and sports as well as entertainment for children and grown-ups.
I'd say it's a particularly good choice if you are the sort of family who would like to spend a couple of days at the resort and then spend the rest of the time exploring or walking in the local area.
Haven's Greenacres Holiday Park is dog friendly.
Price: £835 for a Saver caravan for four people for a week in August 2025. The Saver grade is the cheapest option with Haven, followed by Bronze, Silver, Gold and 'Signature'.

8. Llanrhidian Holiday Park (Gower Peninsula, South Wales) outdoor pool, outstanding scenery, hot tubs
**Llanrhidian Offers: save up to 30% on last minute deals + use code EBIRD10 via this link to save 10% on Summer 2025**
Llanrhidian Holiday Park is in the Gower Peninsula, which is a beautiful and unspoilt part of South Wales. I'd say it's a great choice if you want lovely scenery and outdoors adventures rather than non-stop attractions. The local coastline is marshy, rather than the sort of place you will buy a stick of rock and build a sandcastle.
There are popular beaches if you don't mind a short drive, including Oxwich Bay which is about 15 minutes away. Caswell Bay, Langland Bay and Rhossili Bay are all within half an hour's drive.
The main onsite attraction is a heated outdoor swimming pool. Llanrhidian has also got a restaurant/bar called The Purple Badger. There's a gym to help you burn off last night's dinner.
It's run by John Fowler Holidays which has several caravan parks in the UK. Llanrhidian Holiday Park scores 4.3/5 from customers on Google Reviews.
They've got modern caravans at Llanrhidian Holiday Park and lodges with hot tubs if you want an upgrade.
Price: £1060 for a week in August 2025 in a Classic caravan, which sleeps four people.

9. Aberdunant Hall Holiday Park (Snowdonia, North Wales) Peaceful park, cheap
If you want knobbly knee competitions and bingo nights...don't stay at Aberdunant Hall Holiday Park in Snowdonia. However, if you fancy a peaceful park that gets good reviews, then it's worth a look.
On site facilities are limited to a playground and restaurant/bar, but it is convenient for exploring pretty places like Porthmadog and Portmerion. It's about a 15-minute drive to the beach, although you are obviously well placed to explore the mountain ranges of Snowdonia.
Reviews are consistently around 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor. Nearby attractions include Gypsy Wood Activity Park.
It's also one of the cheapest options we've found for a family of four, so a good option if you want somewhere cheap as a base to do some walking in Snowdonia.
Price: £1349 for a caravan for four people in early August 2024. We couldn't find prices for 2025.

10. Pencnwc Holiday Park (Gwynedd, Mid Wales) Indoor pool, coastal walks, family friendly
If you want a well-equipped park for exploring the Wales coastal path (and if you are able to pronounce it) then Pencnwc Holiday Park is worth a look.
The park has got an indoor swimming pool, games room, clubhouse with entertainment and a children's club so you can certainly waste a couple of days onsite if the weather is iffy.
Nearby is New Quay, which is a pretty little seaside town (not to be confused with Newquay in Cornwall, which is somewhat larger and busier).
It's not too far from the Vale of Rheidol Railway, which gets really good reviews (4.5 out of 5) and will have steam engine fans called Nigel and Brian getting overwhelmed and needing a lie down.
Pencnwc Holiday Park itself gets great reviews, averaging 4.5/ 5 on TripAdvisor.
Price: £795 for a 'standard' caravan which sleeps four people, for a week in August 2024. We couldn't find a price for 2025.
