10 Best Caravan Holiday Parks in Wales (2026 Guide)
Author: Robbie Lane | Last updated: 30 January 2026
Wales has hundreds of caravan holiday parks, ranging from huge action-packed resorts to small scenic parks by the coast or mountains.
This guide focuses on the best all-round caravan holiday parks in Wales for a one-week family holiday, based on customer reviews, location, facilities and peak-season price.
We’ve deliberately chosen parks from different parts of Wales rather than filling the list with one brand or one region.
Wales has dozens of holiday parks, but we've picked out 10 of the best by looking at traveller reviews, location, price and facilities onsite. We've picked some from South Wales around Pembrokeshire, some holiday parks in Ceredigion in Mid Wales, some in Snowdonia and Conwy Valley/Denbighshire and Rhyl in North Wales.
Our experience is that Wales is generally a little bit cheaper for holiday parks than those in Cornwall and some other parts of England, so it is good for a budget holiday.

Wales holiday parks: how we ranked our top picks
This isn’t a rigid “league table” where the park at number one will suit everyone best.
We’ve ordered the list by overall appeal for a typical one-week family holiday in Wales, balancing customer reviews, peak-season price, facilities and location.
Some higher-ranked parks are smaller and score exceptionally well for scenery or reviews, while others further down the list are larger, busier resorts with more onsite activities at a similar price. We’ve highlighted those trade-offs in each entry so you can quickly spot which parks best match your priorities.

1. Barmouth Bay Holiday Park (Snowdonia)
Indoor pool, mountain and beach location
**Barmouth Bay Discount Code: up to 10% off via this link with code DOGFRIENDLY10 until 31/12/26**
Why it’s in our top 10:
Barmouth Bay Holiday Park tops our list because it combines outstanding customer reviews with a rare mountain-and-beach location at a mid-range August price.
Who it’s best for:
Ideal for families who want scenery and space rather than a huge entertainment complex. It’s quieter than the big branded resorts but still has enough onsite to keep children happy.
Location:
The park sits just outside Barmouth, with a wide sandy beach two minutes’ walk away and Snowdonia rising immediately behind it. The beach (Tal-y-Bont) is rated “excellent” for water quality, meaning it’s safe for swimming.
Facilities:
Onsite facilities include an indoor swimming pool, adventure playground and sports court. There’s no bar or restaurant onsite, but several places to eat are within walking distance. During summer, the park also hosts outdoor cinema nights.
Reviews:
Customer reviews are exceptionally strong, averaging 4.4/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.6/5 on Google Reviews (90% overall), placing it among the very best Away Resorts parks.

2. Haven Hafan y Môr Holiday Park (Snowdonia, North Wales)
Busy Haven park, kids' activities, indoor pool
**Haven's Offers: Last minute bargains from £49 + Summer 2026 from £159**
Why it’s in our top 10:
Hafan y Môr earns its place for offering one of the biggest and best ranges of family activities in Wales, following major investment, while still delivering solid review scores for a very large resort.
Who it’s best for:
Best suited to families who want a busy, action-packed holiday with lots to do onsite. Less appealing if you’re looking for peace and quiet.
Location:
Located near Pwllheli on the Llŷn Peninsula, close to a Blue Flag beach and well placed for exploring Snowdonia National Park. It was once home to Butlin's Pwllheli but has changed a huge amount since then.
Facilities:
By my count, Hafan y Môr is the fifth biggest Haven in the UK. As you'd expect from Haven, it's a busy park in a prime seaside location, which is very much aimed at families. Facilities include a large indoor swimming pool with a four-lane waterslide and a splash zone as well as Nature Rockz, which is things like survival skills and bug hunts. It's also near to a Blue Flag beach. There are nine places to eat at Hafan y Môr and nine playgrounds to spend time on (best to let your dinner digest first). It also has an 'adventure village' with things like mini off road vehicles, high ropes and boat hire. You can bring dogs to Hafan y Môr. It even has a 'Bark Yard', which is a dog agility course and you can take your pet into The Coast House restaurant.
Reviews:
Reviews average 3.9/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.4/5 on Google Reviews (83% overall), which is strong for a resort of this size.
Price: £1129 for a family of four for a week in August 2026 in a Saver two-bedroom caravan. A cheaper Haven Hideaway option (no leisure access) can save around £200. There are five grades of caravan at Haven - read our comparison.

3. Haven Lydstep Beach Holiday Park (South Wales)
Haven holiday park, indoor swimming pool, dramatic coastal views
Why it’s in our top 10:
Lydstep Beach makes the list for its exceptional customer reviews and spectacular coastal setting, despite being smaller and usually more expensive than other Haven parks in Wales.
Who it’s best for:
A great choice for families who value scenery and quality over sheer scale, and don’t mind a quieter park with fewer facilities.
Location:
Set above the Pembrokeshire Coast Path near Tenby, with some of the best sea views you’ll find at a Haven resort and easy access to a beautiful local beach. Local attractions include The Dinosaur Park in Tenby.
Facilities:
Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, climbing wall, kayaking on the beach, fencing and target sports, plus a mix of free and paid activities. It’s well equipped, but not on the same scale as Hafan y Môr.
Reviews:
Lydstep Beach scores an impressive 89% overall, far above Haven’s UK average of around 80%.
Price: £785 for a family of four for a week in August 2026. It’s a small and popular park, so peak-summer dates often sell out well in advance. Lydstep Beach is a dog friendly holiday park, which will either appeal to you or put you off depending on your point of view.

Why it’s in our top 10:
Trecco Bay is included as the most action-packed Parkdean Resorts holiday park in Wales, combining huge scale, direct beach access and strong value for families who prioritise activities over tranquillity.
Who it’s best for:
Best for families who want a lively, resort-style holiday with lots of organised activities and don’t mind crowds.
Location:
Located near Porthcawl, around 40 minutes west of Cardiff, with direct access to two beaches (Trecco Bay and Newton Beach). It’s particularly convenient from South West England. It’s quite a large site, but the furthest caravan from the beach is only about 10 minutes' walk so not too bad.
Facilities:
Facilities include a large indoor pool, outdoor splash park, soft play, mini golf, archery, climbing wall, high ropes, sports dome and kids’ clubs. Some activities cost extra but prices are reasonable. It had a revamp in 2021, with £3.5m spent on improvements and plans for further work.

The only Parkdean Resorts holiday park in Wales with a slightly higher review score is Parkdean Resorts Ty Mawr Holiday Park. Price: £939 for a family of four for a week in August 2026 in a Bronze caravan (excluding pets and upgrades). Read our guide to Parkdean's new caravan grading system, which is being used at some of its parks (including Trecco Bay).

Price: £1483 for a family of four for a week in August 2026 in the cheapest two-bedroom caravan. Most of the caravan accommodation doesn't allow pets, but I found a cottage within the grounds that would welcome your dog.
