10 Best Devon Airbnb Holiday Rental Properties - 2024
Airbnb has a huge choice of places to stay in Devon and lots of properties offer the option of staying for a night or two rather than booking for a full week. Some Airbnb holiday lets are ideal for a couple's break whilst others are multi-bedroom mansions which are suitable for a gathering of several families.
We picked our 8 best Air bnbs in Devon by looking at customer reviews, location, facilities and value for money. We've dug out properties with sea views, two castles, a treehouse, a couple of Devon's best glamping properties and massive manor houses. |

1. An Apartment With A View at Salcombe (sleeps 6)
This modern apartment overlooking Salcombe has stonkingly good reviews with an average of 4.99/5 from 100+ visitors (at the time of writing).
The main appeal is the views from the decking, so it's ideal for the warmer months when you can sit outside without wearing six layers. The lounge also has a terrific view. There are two double beds and a bunk bed and the whole place is nicely done with a modern interior rather than the floral bed linen you get at some holiday lets. It's only few minutes walk down to the beach. |
2. A Treehouse near Salcombe (sleeps 2)
There are a few treehouses for hire on Airbnb in Devon and Cornwall but this one at Salcombe Farm is one of the most popular with 350+ reviews and a score averaging more than 4.9/5 when we checked.
Unlike some treehouses this one has proper facilities and comforts so you won't be emptying a chemical toilet during your romantic weekend. Instead it's got an en-suite shower room, underfloor heating and a toilet that actually flushes (whatever next!). It's in a secluded spot and is only a 10 minute drive into Salcombe - or a 30 minute walk if you're more adventurous. |
3. A Yurt near Dartmouth (sleeps 4)
A yurt like this one just outside of Dartmouth offers an 'off-grid' holiday so it's good for anyone who likes the idea of escaping daily life rather than someone who wants a five star hotel. For example, the Airbnb listing explains that 'drinking water is pumped by hand from our borehole' whilst the washing up is done with rainwater.
Having said that, there's the option of a wood-fired hot tub and it's got a log burner and a basic kitchen. It's got space for four people but it's probably more suited for two people as there's a double bed alongside a sofa bed. Customer reviews are outstanding. When we checked it was averaging 4.9/5 from 100+ reviews. |
4. A Geodome With A Hot Tub near Ivybridge (sleeps 4)
I love the look of this Geodome in South Devon which is massive inside and is really well kitted-out.
This certainly isn't rustic camping as it comes with a cinema room, hot tub, games consoles, a proper kitchen, ensuite bathroom and - most important of all - Wifi. It's got a double bed and two sofa beds so it is suitable for a couple or perhaps a family with a couple of teenagers. When we checked, it had received a few reviews, all of which were glowing. |
5. A Shepherd's Hut on Dartmoor (sleeps 2)
This tasteful and compact Shepherd's Hut has everything you need for a romantic break include a kitchen, an en-suite and a log burner.
It makes our list of the best Airbnbs in Devon thanks to consistently strong reviews which average about 4.9/5 from 100+ reviewers. It's a little way inland on Dartmoor so it will take you about 40 minutes to get to the coast at Paignton or Torquay. It's much closer to Moretonhampstead so you won't have to cook every night. |
6. A Georgian Country House near Barnstable (sleeps 20)
Corffe House in North Devon is one of the best equipped country houses you'll find on Airbnb with plenty to do if you're planning a family weekend with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
As well as a swimming pool which is shared with some adjacent cottages, there's a tennis court, cinema room, playground and five acres of land. There are eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms which should avoid some arguments in the morning. In terms of location, it's a drive of about 20 minutes to the beach at Westward Ho! or you can get to Barnstable in about 10 minutes. When we checked there had been a few reviews and they were all giving it 5/5. |
7. Miss Marple's Manor House in Budleigh Salterton (sleeps 18)
Fans of 1980s television will be thrilled to discover that Watch Hill in East Devon starred in the Miss Marple TV Movie 'Sleeping Murder' (currently scoring 7.7/10 on IMDb, in case you're interested).
The house gets a much higher rating with an average of more than 4.8/5 when we checked. It's a grand coastal manor house with high ceilings, a tree-lined driveway, nine bedrooms, a games room and sea views. Rather appealingly, it's only about a mile from the beach so you can have a trip to the seaside without spending your whole time in the car. |
8. A Fort With A Rooftop Hot Tub near Honiton (sleeps 16)
Rower Fort is another Airbnb in East Devon which is ideal for a big family gathering.
Highlights include an indoor swimming pool with wooden beams and a rooftop hot tub with views of the Blackdown Hills. It's a little way inland near to the Somerset/Devon border so it will take you about 25 minutes to drive to the beach at Lyme Regis or Seaton Down. When we checked, Rower Fort was scoring 5/5 from reviewers although it didn't have quite as many scores as some properties. |
