Eurocamp Camping Village Fabulous - 25 minutes by car/60 minutes by public transport to the Colosseum
- Solid reviews of 4/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.1/5 on Google Reviews.
- Very large park with about 800 holiday homes and good facilities. That means it is a similar scale to one of Haven's mid-sized/larger holiday parks in the UK.
- Two large outdoor swimming pools. One is a 'lagoon', which is good for younger children and the other is a more straightforward pool with lanes.
- Two small waterslides and a splash park.
- Kids' clubs for 5-12 year olds, plus discos for children.
- Sports and activities on offer include minigolf, pedal go karts, trampolines, tennis, football, volleyball and table tennis.
- Onsite restaurant if you don't fancy cooking, plus a café/bar next to the swimming pools.
- Choice of accommodation including Classic (£), Comfort (££) and Premium (£££) holiday homes (see our guide to Eurocamp's accommodation grades).
- 15 minutes from the beach by car if you fancy a swim in the Mediterranean.
- Just 15 minutes by car from Rome's main airport.
- A mid-priced option compared to other holiday parks in Italy.
Eurocamp Village Roma Capitol - 35 minutes by car/1 hr 20 minutes by public transport to the Colosseum
- Much smaller resort than Eurocamp Camping Village Fabulous. It's about a quarter of the size in terms of the number holiday homes for rent but it has most things that we look for in a holiday park.
- There are two main swimming pools, as well as a splash pool for smaller children. The bad news is that there aren't any waterslides or flumes.
- Onsite games include beach volleyball, basketball, football as well as minigolf and tennis.
- Kids' club for children aged 5-17.
- Onsite restaurant so you won't have to cook every night.
- Just five minutes' drive to the Mediterranean coastline, or 45 minutes on foot (so probably not realistic with children!).
- Marginally lower review scores than Eurocamp Camping Village Fabulous, with an average of 4/5 on TripAdvisor or 3.9/5 on Google Reviews.
- Just 10-15 minutes' drive from Rome's main airport.
- Far fewer accommodation options that Eurocamp Camping Village Fabulous. The only option is 'Classic' grade holiday homes, which are Eurocamp's cheapest and most basic range. However, they include air conditioning and come in two or three bedroom versions.
- Usually the cheapest option we've found for a caravan holiday park near Rome.
Village Flaminio Bungalow Park - 30 minutes by car/60 minutes by public transport to the Colosseum
- Slightly lower review scores than Eurocamp Village Roma Capitol and Eurocamp Camping Village Fabulous. Current ratings are 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor or 4/5 on Google Reviews.
- Tends to be a similar price to Eurocamp Camping Village Fabulous but slightly more expensive than Eurocamp Village Roma Capitol.
- Small outdoor swimming pool. Nice for a quick dip but not somewhere you will be spending all day!
- To the North of Rome so a longer journey to the beach and airport than the other resorts featured in this guide. The coastline is a drive of about 45 minutes. Rome's main airport is half an hour away.
- Selection of bungalows for 2-5 people in a leafy park.
- Onsite restaurant and playground, but it doesn't have a huge range of sports and activities.
