5 Best Holiday Parks Near Legoland Windsor - 2024
Legoland Windsor is a fantastic family day out and one good option is staying at one of the hotels on site. However, that’s not a cheap option (three nights in August 2024 staying in the Legoland Resort Hotel was £1249 for a family of four when we checked).
Sure, you could stay in a hotel near Legoland but I’ve come to the conclusion that young children and hotels don’t mix, especially if you’re staying for a whole week. A holiday park or a lodge park is often a more affordable option and they give you more space.
There aren’t very many holiday parks near to Legoland Windsor, as it’s not near the sea and Slough isn’t exactly a tourism hotspot (unless you’re a fan of The Office). In fact, Haven’s nearest holiday park is about 90 minutes' drive away from Legoland Windsor (Haven’s Church Farm).
However, with a bit of digging around we’ve found five highly rated holiday parks that are near to Legoland Windsor. Some of them are also near Peppa Pig World and Chessington World of Adventures, so you can endure (sorry, enjoy) a whole week of family theme park fun. If you want to mix it up with something a bit classier, the royal residence at Windsor Castle is another hugely popular attraction near to Legoland Windsor.
For our top 5 holiday parks we looked at factors including distance from Legoland, value for money, customer reviews and facilities.

For our top 5 holiday parks we looked at factors including distance from Legoland, value for money, customer reviews and facilities.
1. Tilford Woods Lodge Retreat (45 minutes from Legoland, hot tubs).
Tilford Woods Lodge Retreat sits about halfway between Legoland Windsor and Peppa Pig World (part of Paultons Park). It’s about 45 minutes' drive to Legoland, 35 minutes to Chessington World of Adventures/The Gruffalo or an hour to Peppa Pig World.
It’s a posh lodge park that gets outstanding reviews from customers and has lodges that sleep 2, 4 and 6 people. TripAdvisor reviewers give it 4.5/5 whilst Google Reviews were at 4.7/5 when we checked.
There aren’t a lot of facilities onsite (don’t expect bingo nights and there’s no swimming pool) but it’s a decent base for a week exploring London, Legoland, Chessington and Peppa Pig World. Some of the lodges have hot tubs, so you can enjoy an outdoor bath and hope the neighbours aren’t looking.
If you want a day out in London, it’s about 40 minutes on the train from nearby Guildford.
Price: £899 for a week in August 2024 in a Sturt Lodge for a family of four. Bear in mind that the Legoland entry price is included if you stay at Legoland Windsor, so you’ll need to add this on to your budget. Standard ticket prices for Legoland Windsor are about £66 per person, though there are offers available sometimes.

2. Legoland Windsor Woodland Village Lodges (onsite at Legoland, playgrounds, woodland trail, theme park entry included)
If you want a shorter break then Legoland Windsor now has its own Woodland Village Lodges that are quite similar to holiday park accommodation. You can't stay here for a full week but you get rather cool Lego-themed accommodation and one day entry to Legoland included.
The key difference is that the lodges don't have kitchens. Breakfast is included in the onsite restaurant and then you can choose where you eat after that.
In my opinion, the Woodland Village lodges are much more practical for parents with young children than the Legoland Hotels. They have a bit more space to run around and you won't be waking up the neighbours if your children demand Peppa Pig at 5am. The Woodland Village also has playgrounds and a nature trail across its 10 acres (i.e. it's pretty big).
You can pick from Standard or Premium Woodland lodges at Legoland Windsor. There are also some 'Woodland Barrels' but these are a bit too cosy for my liking.
Price: £1429 for three nights in a Standard Woodland Lodge for four people. That price includes two days in Legoland Windsor and you can buy extra days if you want. It also includes breakfast every day. For a five night holiday it was about £2200.

3. Edgeley Holiday Park Guildford (45 minutes to Legoland, indoor swimming pool)
**Winner: best value holiday park near Legoland**
Edgeley Holiday Park’s main advantage is that it has a swimming pool, sauna, tennis court and playground onsite. It’s also in a pleasant rural spot in the Surrey Hills just outside of Guildford.
Reviews were 4.3/5 on Google Reviews when we checked, although TripAdvisor reviews weren't as high scoring (3.5/5). The lodges score well with customers.
Legoland Windsor is 45 minutes drive, whilst Chessington World of Adventures is 30 minutes away. Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park isn’t quite so convenient as it’s about 1 hr 15 minutes drive.
Price: £845 for a week for a family of four in August 2024 staying in a Classic Holiday Home.

4. California Chalet and Touring Park Wokingham (30 minutes to Legoland, fishing lakes)
California Chalet and Touring Park is mostly used by people with their own caravans, but they do have rental accommodation on site. It may not exactly be the California you're expecting, but it's a leafy site with pretty lakes.
It's 30 minutes' drive from Legoland Windsor, making it one of the closest holiday parks we've found. It's also one of the cheapest places to stay near the theme park.
On-site facilities are quite basic, but it's got fishing and gets reviews of 4.3/5 from customers on Google Reviews or 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor, at the time of writing.
The chalets are 2 and 3 bedroom, meaning they'll sleep between 4 and 8 people
Price: £1225 for a three-bedroom chalet for a family of four for a week in August 2024.

5. Benson Waterfront Leisure Park Oxfordshire (riverside, 40 minutes to Legoland)
Benson Waterfront Leisure Park is further north than most of the other accommodation in this guide, so it’s a good one if you fancy a day wandering around Oxford as well as a day or two at Legoland. Oxford is only 20 minutes away (although getting into the city is notoriously slow by car) or Legoland is about 40 minutes' drive.
The site is fairly small and has lodges with hot tubs which sit alongside the River Thames. You can even hire a boat or a canoe if you don’t think it will end with siblings attempting to push each other in the river because of a dispute about who got the last croissant at breakfast.
Fishing is another option, which may be the clincher if you’re trying to persuade a spouse that they really would enjoy a trip to Legoland.
There’s also a waterfront café which is open in the evening during the summer.
The park scores very well with reviewers (about 4.5/5 on most sites). It’s not so convenient for Peppa Pig World or Chessington World of Adventures. Expect a drive of about 1hr 10m to get to either.

Finally...what about Legoland Resort Hotel or Legoland Castle Hotel
Another way to achieve the full Legoland experience is to stay onsite at one of the two resort hotels:
For comparison, we looked for a three-night break including two days entry to Legoland in August 2024 for a family of four. Legoland Castle Hotel was £1519 whilst Legoland Resort Hotel was £1249 for a Pirate/Adventure themed room or £1519 for a Lego Friends themed room.
Those are just the minimum prices without any extras. There are regularly deals and offers which mean you can get special prices on Legoland Resort breaks.
- Legoland Resort Hotel has rooms themed around Lego Friends, Ninjago, Pirates and Adventure. It's also got a Lego splash swimming pool, which is not huge but is good fun. There's also a restaurant and a rather cool Legoland Playroom where you can build things from Lego (we spent ages in here!).
- Legoland Castle Hotel has rooms themed around knights and wizards. They also do things like meet and greet with Lego characters.
