Summary table of our five best Center Parcs in Europe
Our table gives you a quick summary of how our five favourite Center Parcs in Europe compare on:
- Average rating across the main review sites, plus how they rate for their swimming pools. See our Center Parcs guides for each country in Europe to see how we calculated the percentages.
- Driving time from Calais, assuming you aren't stuck behind a French tractor. We've gone for Calais, as it's the quickest crossing at just 35 minutes from Folkestone in Kent via the Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle.
- Activities including those you pay for and those that are included in the price you pay when you book.
- A rough price, compared to other Center Parcs in Europe. This is based on three sets of dates including some in peak season and some on off peak dates. You'll notice that they all get the same rating (££). We've found that the cheapest Center Parcs in Europe are usually not up to the same standard, whilst the more expensive ones are not really worth the upgrade.

Which is the best Center Parcs in France?
There are seven Center Parcs in France but we reckon Le Bois Aux Daims is the best. Les Villages Nature Paris doesn't score as well with reviewers but it's convenient if you want to visit Disneyland Paris.
Le Bois Aux Daims is the best according to customer reviews, which are 3.7/5 on TripAdvisor and 4/5 on Google Reviews (or 77% overall).
It's towards the West of France and is 3 hours by car from St Malo (which is a 9 hour ferry from Portsmouth) or a 5hr 30m drive from the Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle at Calais. It's not the cheapest, but it's also not the most expensive. It opened in 2015, making it a nice new park. The waterpark ('Aqua Mundo') scores an impressive 4.4/5 on Google reviews.
Three other parks get similar review scores if we add together TripAdvisor and Google Review scores and turn them into a percentage. These are Les Trois Forêts (75%) Les Hauts Des Bruyeres (71%) and a fairly new Center Parcs called Les Landes de Gascogne (73%).
Three others are some way behind on review scores, including Le Lac d'Ailette (69%) Les Bois-Francs (66%) and Les Villages Nature Paris (66%). Les Bois-Francs has been refurbished recently so I would expect review scores to improve.
Six out of seven are in the northern half of France, so there isn't a considerable difference in driving distance from the UK. Les Bois-Francs is the closest to the Le Havre ferry, whilst Le Lac d'Ailette and Les Villages Nature Paris are the closest to the Eurotunnel (about 2hr 30m by car from Calais).
The exception on location is Les Landes de Gascogne, which is a whopping 9 hours 30-minute drive from Calais.
Les Villages Nature Paris is a bit unusual, because it's also one of the official accommodations for Disneyland Paris (it's a joint thing with Center Parcs). So, it's certainly worth considering if you want a couple of days with Mickey Mouse.

We did a price comparison for a week in August 2026 for a family of four and came up with the following results, in order of price:
- Les Bois-Francs - £1476 (a cheap option in our price comparison and has had some money spent on it recently - but currently has the joint worst review score)
- Le Lac d'Ailette - £1509 (the closest from the Eurotunnel at Calais but reviews are not great)
- Les Hauts Des Bruyeres - £1636 (reasonable reviews, but not spectacular)
- Le Bois Aux Daims - £1795 (the best customer reviews, opened in 2015 - our pick of the bunch!)
- Les Landes de Gascogne - £1918 (new resort that opened in 2022 - quite good reviews but smaller than average Center Parcs)
- Les Trois Forêts - £1987 (good value and second best reviews)
- Les Villages Nature Paris - £2173 (next door to Disneyland Paris but less good reviews)

Which is the best CenterParcs in the Netherlands and Holland?
There are nine Center Parcs across the Netherlands (including Holland, which is part of the Netherlands). None of them are particularly new, but several have been modernised over the last couple of years.
Het Meerdal is the clear winner on customer reviews. It gets an average review of 80%, whereas the other Dutch Center Parcs range from 67% - 77%. We calculated these average scores by combining thousands of TripAdvisor and Google Review scores.
De Kempervennen is the second highest on 77% - and is the closest to the UK.
De Kempervennen and Het Meerdal both get good reviews for their 'Aqua Mundo' waterparks, with respective scores of 4.2/5 and 4.3/5 on Google reviews. Het Meerdal is unusual for Center Parcs in Europe as it has properties that are particularly good for dogs and families with babies.
Both parks are in a similar location, near Eindhoven in the South East of the Netherlands and they've both got a similar number of activities. Het Meerdal is a 3hr 30m drive from Calais, whilst De Kempervennen is 3 hours.
There was a slight difference in the price, as we shall see!

Prices for a summer holiday at Center Parcs in the Netherlands
We searched for a week in August 2026 for a family of four and found that De Kempervennen was from £1749 whilst Het Meerdal was from £1619 which is about £100 cheaper. Those prices are about £700 - £900 less than a similar break in the UK.
We also looked at dates in October and Easter. In some cases, Het Meerdal was mid-priced amongst Center Parcs in the Netherlands/Holland whilst at other times it was one of the more expensive options.
Anyway, I'd start by looking at Center Parcs Het Meerdal if you want a Center Parcs in the Netherlands.

Which is the best Center Parcs in Germany?
Germany has a choice of six Center Parcs, but I personally would start by looking at Park Bostalsee, which scores 81% on average from customers on review sites. It's a modern park, which opened in 2013 and it's got plenty to do.
Another German park - Center Parcs Bispinger Heide - has more activities than most others, but it scores 75% from customers. Park Bostalsee has about 100 activities, so you are unlikely to get bored.
The others score between 68% and 75%, so are lagging some way behind (see our Center Parcs Germany guide for the full rundown).
In terms of location, Park Bostalsee is in South West Germany, about 2 hours from Frankfurt. A flight from London to Frankfurt takes about 90 minutes. It's a 5-hour drive from Calais.
Park Bostalsee is quite a new park, as it opened in 2013. Center Parcs Park Allgäu is slightly newer (it opened in 2018) and its waterpark gets slightly better customer reviews than Park Bostalsee's waterpark. However, it was considerably more expensive in our price comparisons and overall reviews are far behind at 68%.

Prices for a summer holiday at Center Parcs in Germany
For a week in August 2026, we found that a family of four would pay from £1480 at Centerparcs Park Bostalsee or £1929 at Center Parcs Park Allgäu. We also looked at some dates in Easter and October and found that Park Bostalsee was considerably cheaper (about £800 cheaper in one instance!).
Other Center Parcs in Germany, such as Center Parcs Park Hochsauerland and Center Parcs Park Eifel are usually cheaper than Center Parcs Park Bostalee. However, I would pay a little bit extra due to the better reviews of Park Bostalsee.

Which is the best Center Parcs in Belgium?
There are five Center Parcs in Belgium, including three very good ones. I'd pick between De Vossemeren and Center Parcs Erperheide as they get similar review scores of 82% and both have lots going for them.
Center Parcs Terhills Resort opened in 2021 and is the newest Center Parcs resort in Belgium. It's new and shiny and it actually gets the best reviews of all the Center Parcs in Europe (86% overall). However, it is quite small and expensive compared to most Center Parcs in Europe.
Center Parcs De Vossemeren and Center Parcs Erperheide have considerably more activities than Center Parks Les Ardennes, Center Parks Park de Haan or Center Parcs Terhills Resort. They also get better customer reviews of their waterparks ('Aqua Mundo'), which are a big part of a Center Parcs holiday. Les Ardennes and Park de Haan were previously 'Sunparks' sites but were rebranded as Center Parcs.
In our price comparison, Center Parcs De Vossemeren and Center Parcs Erperheide didn't have much between them so I would check both parks for the dates that you want to travel. Center Parcs Erperheide has the added quirk of offering 'pony cottages' where you live alongside the riding school and look after a pony.

Prices for a summer holiday at Center Parcs in Belgium
When we checked, a week's holiday for a family of four in August 2026 was available for £1920 at De Vossemeren compared to £1744 at Erperheide but it is sometimes the other way round. Highly-rated Center Parcs Terhills Resort was £2011 for the same dates - making it only a little cheaper than Center Parcs in the UK.
Four of the five parks in Belgium are towards the Dutch border. You can take your car through the Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle at Folkestone in 35 minutes and then it's a 3-4 hour drive from Calais to De Vossemeren or Erperheide.
Center Parks Park de Haan is the closest Center Parcs in the Europe from the UK, as it's just over an hour from Calais. It doesn't get as good reviews as the other Belgian resorts but it is perhaps one to consider for a weekend.

What about Center Parcs in Denmark?
Rather excitingly, Center Parcs opened its first ever Danish resort in June 2025. It's called Center Parcs Nordborg Resort and can be reached from the UK in 11 hours by car or via a 90 minute flight from London to Billund Airport.
It's current review score is 82% but it's still early days.
Nordborg Resort has the usual Center Parcs Europe facilities including an Aqua Mundo (i.e. a whopping great swimming pool with rapids, a wave pool and slides). The swimming pool at Nordborg Resort in Denmark is on a similar scale to the pool at Center Parcs Park Allgäu, which is considered one of the best Aqua Mundo pools.
Nordborg Resort is a mid-sized based on the number of lodges and it has the added curiosity of having a pier. The resort is by a beach, which is unusual for Center Parcs.
Center Parcs Nordborg Resort is quite pricey but prices might start to drop once the initial excitement has died down. A week for a family of four in August 2026 will cost you from £2257.
That's about £200 - £300 cheaper than the equivalent holiday in the UK so there's not much of a saving to be made unless prices drop at a later date.
The big appeal for my family is a holiday that combines Center Parcs Nordborg Resort with a visit to the original Legoland resort in Denmark. Legoland Denmark is next door to Billund Airport, so you could easily see the resort at the start or end of your holiday.

Conclusion - the best Center Parcs in Europe
If you fancy giving Center Parcs in Europe a go, I would personally start by looking at these five sites:
The exception is if you want to combine a Center Parcs holiday with a trip to Disneyland, in which case your best option is Center Parcs Les Villages Nature Paris. It operates as a joint thing between the two companies.
For the sake of your own curiosity, our UK Center Parcs comparison found the cheapest for price a similar holiday was £2348, but you are likely to have lower travel costs.

FAQ: Is Center Parcs cheaper in Europe than the UK?
We've found that equivalent accommodation can sometimes be more than 50% cheaper at Center Parcs Europe compared to Center Parcs UK. However, it's more common for it to be 20% - 30% cheaper and occasionally there's barely any difference at all.
It's hard to give a more definite figure as Center Parcs Europe prices are less predictable than Center Parcs UK prices. Special offers and discounts are more common at Center Parcs Europe.
However, you need to factor in the full costs of going to Center Parcs Europe rather than just the accommodation.
When we visited Center Parcs Erperheide in Belgium, we saved about £1000 on accommodation. We also saved about £100 on the equivalent activities that we decided to do.
However, we drove about 600 miles further than we would have done if we'd gone to the Center Parcs down the road from us. We also paid about £300 for the Eurotunnel and we had to pay some other extras, such as insurance for driving in Europe and European Breakdown Cover. Read the blog about our trip to Center Parcs Erperheide for more precise figures.

FAQ: Which Center Parcs Europe has the best swimming pool?
In Europe, Center Parcs swimming pools are called Aqua Mundo rather than Subtropical Paradise, which is the Center Parcs UK name. The Center Parcs Europe swimming pools that get the best reviews include the Aqua Mundos at Center Parcs Erperheide in Belgium, Le Bois Aux Daims, Les Villages Nature Paris, Center Parcs Park Allgäu in Germany and Center Parcs Het Meerdal in the Netherlands.
It's important to emphasise that not all Center Parcs in Europe have pools that are comparable to the UK Subtropical Paradises. It's also important to say that some of the parks listed above don't get such positive scores overall (notably Park Allgäu in Germany and Les Villages Nature Paris in France). See our guides to Center Parcs in each country for more details.

FAQ: Which Center Parcs Europe is closest to the UK?
Center Parcs Park de Haan in Belgium is the closest to the UK. It takes about 90 minutes to drive from Calais, which can be reached in about 35 minutes from Folkestone on the Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle. Center Parcs Lac d'Ailette is second closest and takes about 2.5 hours.
However, Park de Haan and Lac d'Ailette aren't our favourite Center Parcs resort in Europe. We would recommend driving for about 3.5 hours from Calais to reach some of the best Center Parcs in Europe. That gives you options including Center Parcs Vossemeren and Center Parcs Erperheide, which are both in Belgium.

FAQ: How do I save money when booking Center Parcs Europe?
Our favourite trick is to book via the French version of the Center Parcs website. Center Parcs Europe has several versions of its website in different languages including Dutch, German, English and French. For some reason, each site gives slightly different prices.
We compared hundreds of prices and found that the French site is cheapest in three out of every four searches. The saving can be more than £100 over a week. The holiday is identical, you just need to use the translation tools on your browser! Read our full guide for details on how to bag this deal.
