5 Best Holiday Parks Near Efteling in the Netherlands (including Center Parcs)
Efteling: World of Wonders is undoubtedly one of Europe's best theme parks. It's also rather big and is the third most visited theme park in Europe, behind Disneyland Paris and Europa Park in Germany (at the time of typing, at least).
Most people reckon that you need two days to see Efteling properly, so lots of UK visitors either stay onsite or at a nearby caravan holiday park. Day tickets for Efteling range from about £35-£45 depending on the time of year. It costs the same for anyone aged four or older. Three year olds and and younger children get in free. So, two days for a family of four during school holidays will likely cost about £350, plus about £12 a day for parking.
To reach Efteling, your best bet is probably to drive to Folkestone and catch the 40 minute Eurotunnel (now called Le Shuttle). It's about three hours by car once you reach Calais. Alternatively, fly to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport in about 75-90 minutes from London, Manchester or Glasgow (and other UK airports). You then need to drive about an hour to Efteling. Plan C is a seven hour ferry from Harwich in Essex to Hook of Holland, followed by a one hour drive.
We've picked out five of the best 'vakantieparks' (holiday parks) near Efteling, including Dutch resorts with swimming pools and kids' activities. You can also stay onsite at Efteling, so we will give a summary of how that compares on price.

1. EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel - 5 minutes to Efteling, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, good activities
**Winner: Best Value Holiday Park Near Efteling**
EuroParcs isn't a particularly well-known brand to UK holidaymakers, but it's a big name in the Netherlands where it has more than 40 resorts.
EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel is one of their most popular resorts as it is practically on Efteling's doorstep. Well, it's 4-5 minutes away by car, but it's certainly not far.
The resort gets reviews of 4.1/5 on Google Reviews and 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor and it also performed well in our EuroParcs price comparison.
Visitors can use indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as arguing through a round of minigolf or taking bikes for a ride. There's also an onsite restaurant and some kids activities, as well as organised games.
Price: £860 for the cheapest accommodation for a week in August 2025. That's the price for a family of four. There's a big range of accommodation types at EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel, including lots of modern lodges, which sleep 4-8 people.

2. Landal Kaatsheuvel - 7 minutes to Efteling, indoor swimming pool
Similarly-named Landal Kaatsheuvel opened in 2019, right next door to EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel. Landal's review scores are sneaking ahead at the moment, with a rating of 4.4/5 on Google Reviews.
The facilities aren't quite on a par with EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel, as it's fairly small but it does have an indoor swimming pool. It's only a straightforward rectangle but it's also got a small pool for toddlers. Other fun and games include a playground and a games room.
You can hire bikes from Landal Kaatsheuvel, so some people cycle to Efteling, which sounds particularly wholesome and idyllic. There are also walks and cycle tracks in the nearby Drunense Duinen National Park.
Price: £1198 for a week in a four person holiday home with a log burner, in August 2025. Landal Kaatsheuvel is a good choice if you are visiting with a big group. We found a holiday home which sleeps 12 people for about £2000 - which is a great price per person (£24 per person, per night).

3. Eurocamp TerSpegelt Holiday Park - 40 minutes to Efteling, watersports, indoor pool, cycling
Eurocamp TerSpegelt Holiday Park is a little bit further away from Efteling theme park, but it makes up for it with terrific reviews and a great range of its own activities. If you just want a day or two at Efteling then it's a great option. Customers give TerSpegelt a rating of 4.5/5 on Google Reviews, which is not to be sneezed at.
Eurocamp TerSpegelt has its own 'beach', despite being in an inland location near Eindhoven. The sand surrounds a lake with a waterslide. There are other activities around the lake, including inflatable things pulled by a powerboat and one of those giant balloons that throws you into the water (Ed: er, no thanks...).
It's a particularly good location for going on walks and bike rides, with quite a few near to the park. The indoor pool area is popular but is more of a large splash park rather than somewhere you will be training for the Olympics.
Other activities include fishing for the grown ups, as well as kids' clubs for various ages, an outdoor cinema and organised games and entertainment. Ter Spegelt also has two restaurants.
Take note that Eurocamp TerSpegelt is a very large holiday park. There are about 900 pitches and holiday homes. For comparison, a typical Center Parcs in the UK has about 800 lodges whilst Haven resorts range from about 300 - 1200 caravans.
Price: £1448 for a week in a 'Comfort XL' holiday home in August 2025 for two adults and two children. Comfort is the cheapest grade of accommodation (see our guide to Eurocamp's property grades).

4. Center Parcs Kempervennen - 45 minutes to Efteling, excellent swimming pool and paid activities
This one is a bit of a hybrid-holiday, but it appeals to me.
Visitors to Center Parcs tend not to leave the site very much, as a) you've already paid for access to the excellent onsite facilities and b) it's a bit of a faff to get to your car.
However, Center Parcs Kempervennen may work out as your best option if want a Center Parcs holiday with one day at Efteling, so you can see what all the fuss is about. The drive is further than the other resorts on this Efteling guide, so there's a high chance of children falling asleep in the car on the way back.
In our ridiculously detailed comparison of Center Parcs in the Netherlands, Center Parcs Kempervennen performed pretty well (although Center Parc Het Meerdal was the winner). Kempervennen scores 4/5 on Google Reviews or 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor and it is one of the cheaper Center Parcs resorts. It is certainly a lot cheaper than the UK Center Parcs, which are run by a separate company.
Kempervennen gives you access to an excellent swimming pool, as well as a big range of activities - most of which you pay extra for. The official number of activities at Center Parcs Kempervennen is more than 80 but this is a little misleading as some very similar activities are listed separately.
If you do go for Center Parcs, make sure you book through the French version of the Center Parcs Europe website. We studied hundreds of prices and concluded that CenterParcs.fr is nearly always cheaper than CenterParcs.eu for an identical holiday. The saving is likely to be around £100 for a week's holiday. You are getting the exact same holiday and it's pretty easy to book as your browser will do the translating for you. When you get to entering your address on the payment page, look under the 'R' section for Royaume-Uni (United Kingdom in French).
Price: £1499 for a week in the cheapest grade of two bedroom lodge, for a family of four in August 2025. We've got a separate guide to the types of accommodation available at Center Parcs Europe, as it's a little complicated.

5. EuroParcs Aan de Maas - 30 minutes to Efteling, golf course nearby, riverside accommodation
Our final pick is EuroParcs Aan de Maas. It's not the closest to Efteling, but it sits in an idyllic riverside location which means that lots of the accommodation has good views.
The main thing it is lacking is a swimming pool, but it (partially) makes up for this with a nine hole golf course next door.
This might be a solution if you are holidaying with a spouse/grandparent who could be left playing golf whilst you take the children to Efteling.
You can hire bikes, or an e-chopper if you prefer, which is a cross between a motorbike and an e-bicycle. There are quite a few bike paths in the area and there's also a playground onsite.
Customer reviews are currently averaging 4/5 for EuroParcs Aan de Maas.
Price: £1168 for a lodge for a family of four. The one we found was pretty spacious and was overlooking the water so it was a good price. They also have some large holiday homes that sleep up to 10 people in five bedrooms.

Which is cheapest? Price comparison of five outstanding holiday parks near Efteling
The range in prices between the holiday parks we've picked isn't huge. Also bear in mind that we only looked at one set of dates, so you might be able to find a better deal by tweaking the arrival date. We looked for the cheapest accommodation available for a week in August 2025. This was based on a group of two adults and two children. We searched in November 2024. From cheapest to most expensive:
- EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel - £860
- EuroParcs Aan de Maas - £1168
- Landal Kaatsheuvel - £1198
- Eurocamp TerSpegelt Holiday Park - £1448
- Center Parcs Kempervennen - £1499
What about staying at Efteling? Is that a more expensive option?
The short answer is that no, staying at Efteling isn't necessarily more expensive than staying at a holiday park nearby. Of course, it can be pricey if you go the poshest accommodation available and visit at peak times - but there are some great deals around.
The main reason it is good value is that accommodation includes entry to the theme park (Disneyland Paris operates in a similar way). As mentioned earlier, that will save you quite a bit. At peak times, a family of four will be paying about £175 for a day at Efteling so you need to add that on to your budget if you stay offsite.
You can choose from hotel rooms or holiday homes at Efteling. For our comparison, we focused on holiday homes as they are more comparable to the accommodation that you get from Landal, Eurocamp, Center Parcs Europe and EuroParcs. The holiday homes at Efteling are a 15 minute walk from the theme park entrance.
The main limitation with Efteling is that they only offer breaks of 2-4 nights. You can't stay for a full week, so it's no good if you want to do seven days in one location. Personally, I find a bit of pain having to relocate halfway through a holiday.
You can choose from a midweek break (four nights), a weekend break (three nights) or a two night midweek break at Efteling.
Efteling prices including entry to the parks in August 2025 for a family of four:
If we deduct the cost of entry to the park for a family of four, the cost of the accommodation looks like this:
So, the cheapest accommodation at Efteling works out as about £90-£100 per night once we deduct the cost of buying tickets to the park. The holiday parks we looked at ranged from about £120 - £215 per night.
What's the conclusion of this stream of numbers?
If you are just planning a weekend at Efteling then I would stay onsite and get tickets included. If you want somewhere to stay for a whole week, go for a holiday park and buy Efteling tickets separately.
