5 of the best Great Yarmouth caravan holiday parks 2021
A holiday in Great Yarmouth in Norfolk offers classic seaside shenanigans on the seafront or quieter sand dune exploring if you head a little way up the coast.
The choice of caravan parks in Great Yarmouth is amongst the best we've seen in the UK, with several highly rated holiday parks to choose from. There aren't very many holiday parks in the town itself, so you are likely to need a car.
We've picked five of the best Great Yarmouth caravan parks on offer and did a price comparison of one week in August to find the cheapest and best value option for families.

We've picked five of the best Great Yarmouth caravan parks on offer and did a price comparison of one week in August to find the cheapest and best value option for families.
1. Hopton Holiday Village (Haven family caravan park, beachside, indoor pool)
**Latest Haven Offers: August 2021 from £549, June from £119, May half term from £299**
Hopton Holiday Village is a little way along the coast from Great Yarmouth but it gets fantastic reviews and has loads to do onsite.
There's a stretch of sandy beach within walking distance or it's about 20 minutes in the car to the seafront at Great Yarmouth, Onsite there are swimming pools (one indoor, one outdoor), along with lots of different sports (minigolf, tennis, football, fencing, bowls). There are also places to eat and entertainment for children and grown ups. Hopton is also near to Lowestoft, which is another option for a day out. TripAdvisor reviewers give Hopton a score of 4.5/5 whilst Hoseasons users average 8.1/10. That makes it one of the highest rated Haven holiday parks in the whole of the UK. Price comparison: £972 for a week in a 'standard' caravan for a family of four in August 2021. It would have cost about £150 extra for a Saturday to Saturday holiday. |
2. Wild Duck Holiday Park (Haven caravan park, woodland location)
Wild Duck Holiday Park isn't right by the sea, but it's another Haven holiday park in the Great Yarmouth area which gets very good reviews.
Unlike Hopton (see number 1) it is based in a woodland area and there are glamping options at Wild Duck (i.e. glamourous camping) as well as the usual caravans. Reviewers give it 4.5/5, which puts it in the top 5 Haven holiday parks in the UK. It'll take you about 20 minutes to drive to the seafront at Great Yarmouth. On site there are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, sports including football, archery, minigolf and pool. There's also bike hire, so you can explore the surrounding area and you can do outdoorsy things like bushcraft. Price comparison: £1088 for a Wild Duck deluxe caravan for a family of four for a week in August 2021. The deluxe caravan was the cheapest option, unless you want a yurt or Safari tent which are usually cheaper). Price was based on arriving on a Friday. |
3. Vauxhall Holiday Park (close to Great Yarmouth, indoor swimming pool, cheap caravan park)
Vauxhall Holiday Park is owned by Parkdean Resorts, which has got dozens of parks across the UK (they merged with Park Resorts a few years ago).
Unlike most of the Great Yarmouth holiday parks on this list, Vauxhall Holiday Park is actually in the town itself. You could walk to the seafront if you wanted to in about 30 minutes. It's also right by Great Yarmouth railway station so it's one to consider if you are arriving without a car. Onsite there is an indoor swimming pool, as well as an outdoor pool, playgrounds and sports. Reviews are around 4/5, so not quite as good as Hopton Holiday Village (see number 1) but still pretty decent. It's also one of the cheaper holiday parks in the Great Yarmouth area that we've managed to find. Price: £759 for a week in a 'Partridge' caravan ("aha!") for four people in August 2021. |
4. Caister on Sea Holiday Park (beachside location, loads to do, indoor swimming pool)
**Winner: best value Great Yarmouth holiday park**
Haven's Caister on Sea Holiday Park makes the list thanks to its beachside location and facilities.
It's quite similar to Wild Duck Holiday Park (see number 2) and Hopton Holiday Village (see number 1) in terms of facilities, but it doesn't quite get as good reviews (Caister on Sea scores about 4/5 rather than 4.5/5). The park has got a large indoor swimming pool which is used for lots of noisy activities (pool kayaking and those big balls you climb inside on water) as well as lots of sports including a football academy, climbing wall, archery, fencing, crazy golf and bike hire. You do have to pay extra for lots of the activities but things like swimming and evening entertainment are all included. It's a 15 minute drive to Great Yarmouth seafront or you can head up to Cromer in about 45 minutes. Price: £772 for a family of four staying in a standard caravan for one week in August 2021 (arriving on a Monday - it costs about £50 more to arrive on a Saturday). |
5. California Cliffs (Parkdean Resorts holiday park, beachside, indoor swimming pool)
**Winner: cheapest holiday park**
California Cliffs is one of three holiday parks operated by Park Resorts/ Parkdean Resorts in the Great Yarmouth area.
We've picked California Cliffs Holiday Park over the other two (Summerfields Holiday Park and Breydon Water) although there isn't a huge amount in it. California Cliffs is a bit closer to a beach than Breydon Water, although they have similar things to do onsite (and they both get 4/5 from TripAdvisor reviewers). Summerfields scores about 3.5/5 but is often a bit cheaper. If you pick California Cliffs you'll be able to use the site's swimming pools (one indoor, one outdoor), play a round of mini golf and clamber across the adventure playground (well, your kids can). You can even bring your dog, although only in some of the accommodation. It's not right in Great Yarmouth, you'll need to drive about 20 minutes but there are beaches much nearer to the actual park. Price comparison: £719 for an 'Alderney' caravan, for a week in August 2021 for a family of four. For a little bit more you could get an eight berth, so you could bring granny and a couple of aunties if you wanted. |
Price comparison of 5 of Great Yarmouth's best holiday caravan parks
Our price comparison just looked for the cheapest caravan available for a family of four in August 2021. We assumed that the family wasn't bringing a pet and didn't buy any optional extras. The range of prices was actually much smaller than most seaside locations. We searched in November 2020.
