5 Best Devon Holiday Lodges With Hot Tubs - 2024
Devon is one of the UK’s most popular holiday spots and there’s an abundance of choice if you want a holiday lodge with a hot tub. We reckon there are at least 20 to choose from, and many of them get really good reviews.
We’ve picked out 5 of the best Devon lodges with hot tubs by digging out every useful bit of information we can find, including customer reviews, facilities, price and location.
To give a rough idea of price we carried out a price comparison for a week in early August 2024. Our criteria was a family holiday for four people with a lodge and a hot tub.

Here’s our top 5:
1. Parkdean Resorts Ruda Holiday Park, near Woolacombe (great beaches, indoor swimming pool)
Location is the key at Ruda Holiday Park, which has a couple of excellent beaches on the doorstep. Croyde Beach is about three minutes' walk from the entrance to Ruda Holiday Park and is a favourite for many people.
The site is run by Parkdean Resorts, which is the biggest holiday park chain in the UK. Well, it's the biggest based on the number of resorts - they have more than 60 around England, Wales and Scotland. Ruda Holiday Park scores 4.2/5 on Google Reviews or 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor. The Parkdean Resorts brand was given a score of 68% by Which? in 2024, whilst Haven and Center Parcs scored a near-identical 69%.
I would put Ruda firmly in the 'family friendly' category, rather than somewhere for couples to escape noisy children. It's got kids' clubs, soft play, a playground and an indoor swimming pool.
Lots of the accommodation is caravans but Ruda Holiday Park also has a good number of lodges with hot tubs. Look for the ones called Saunton Lodge and Arlington Lodge.
Price: £3139 for a lodge with a hot tub for a week in August 2024. The property actually sleeps eight people, so it will work out much better value if you can fill it up by inviting along a couple of stray uncles and aunts.

2. Ladram Bay Holiday Park, near Sidmouth (beachside, indoor swimming pool, family activities)
Ladram Bay Holiday Park is a good choice for families looking for a lodge with a hot tub in Devon. It’s probably not one to choose if you’re a couple looking for a weekend without any children (try Beach Cove Coastal Retreat further down this guide).
The important caveat is that the 'mobile homes' we found are narrower than most lodges - take a look at the pictures of the different grades to see if they would give you enough space.
The park scores 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and has an impressive array of things to do onsite. You can have a dip in the indoor swimming pool, argue your way round the mini-golf course (“that was a practice shot...”), fail to climb the climbing wall, get wet trousers in the splash zone or chase the children round the soft play area.
There’s even a kid’s club run by Ozzie the Otter. It is surely only a matter of time before he gets his own series on Milkshake or Cbeebies.
Its best feature is its proximity to the beach, where you can pay to kayak, go fishing or paddleboard. Anglers - please try to avoid catching any paddleboarders with your hooks.
Price: £1779 for a week for a family of four in a 'mobile home' with a hot tub in August 2024. It was a 3-bedroom property which sleeps six.

3. Beach Cove Coastal Retreat, near Ilfracombe (couples only, sea views)
**Winner: best value Devon lodge with spa in our top 5**
Next up in our Devon Lodge Park top 5 is Beach Cove Coastal Retreat, which is a good choice for swooning couples, rather than for families. Their accommodation has one bedroom and I reckon it would be frowned upon if you bought a family of seven and tried to cram into one room.
Its biggest selling point is that many of the lodges have uninterrupted sea views so you can sit in a hot tub and listen to the waves. Some of the lodges are so close to the water that you might get your feet wet whilst lying in bed.
There’s very little to do onsite and the accommodation is described as ‘beach huts’ rather than large lodges but they are modern and get outstanding customer reviews (4.5/5 on TripAdvisor when I checked).
Price: £985 for a week for two people in a one-bedroom Wrinklewood Premier lodge with a hot tub in August 2024. Note that this is price for two people whilst the other options above are for four people.

4. Devon Hills Holiday Park, near Paignton (swimming pool, drive to beach)
**Winner: cheapest Devon lodge park with hot tubs in our top 5**
Devon Hills Holiday Park near Paignton was the cheapest of our top 5 in our (limited) price comparison. It doesn’t have the range of facilities that you’ll find at Ladram Bay Holiday Park, but it has most of the things which we actually use on a lodge park. It’s also pet friendly so you don’t need to leave your forlorn looking dog in a kennel for a week. The beach is a 10 minute drive away.
Customer reviews were averaging 4/5 on TripAdvisor when we checked and similar elsewhere. Some (but not all) of the lodges have countryside views. It’s run by a company called Haulfryn Holidays which has several parks around the Westcountry.
The 60 acre site has an indoor swimming pool, tennis court, gym, some entertainment and an old thatched pub/restaurant.
If you don’t know Devon, it’s along the so-called ‘English Riviera’ which is the busy southern coast of the county which includes Paignton and Torquay which are popular with tourists and have attractions like Paignton Zoo.
Price: £1509 for a week for a family of four in August 2024 for a Superior Lodge with a hot tub.

5. Hawkchurch Resort and Spa, near Charmouth (drive to beach, gym, hydrotherapy pool)
Hawkchurch Resort and Spa is run by a company called Darwin Escapes which has more than 20 lodge holiday parks in the UK. We’ve stayed at a few of them and have been impressed at the quality of the accommodation. Some of them have lots of facilities whilst others are more of a simple base for exploring.
This one is on the border with Dorset so is good for visiting the Jurassic Coast and places like Lyme Regis, Sidmouth or West Bay (where Broadchurch was filmed). It’s about a 10 minute drive to the beach.
Facilities are relatively limited and are more geared up for adults and older children. There’s a hydrotherapy pool (so not exactly a swimming pool), a gym, a sauna and steam room and a modern bar and bistro.
Customer reviews of Hawkchurch Resort and Spa area very impressive 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.6/5 on Google Reviews.
Price: £1389 for a week in a Marple Premier Lodge with a hot tub for a family of four in August 2024. Lodges without hot tubs were available from £929 for the same week.

Price comparison: Devon's 5 best holiday lodges with hot tubs
For our price comparison, we looked for a holiday lodge with a hot tub for a week in August 2024. We searched for a family of four, including two adults and two children. We didn't include extras or upgrades. We went on the resorts' own definition of what a 'lodge' is.
