There are more than 50 Landal GreenParks across the Netherlands, offering affordable family-friendly holiday parks with lots of activities.

We also didn't include the cost of getting there from the UK, although it doesn't vary hugely as the Netherlands is not massive.

Here’s our top 10:
1. Landal Hof van Saksen, Drenthe (large park, huge waterslides, loads of activities, outstanding reviews)
There are six Landal GreenParks within Drenthe in the North East of the Netherlands, but Hof van Saksen in Nooitgedacht is really highly regarded and is well worth considering.
When we checked, it was scoring a very impressive 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.6/5 on Google reviews, making it the highest rated of all the Landal GreenParks in the Netherlands (based on combining those scores together to give a score out of 10). Bring your swimming trunks, because Landal Hof van Saksen has an indoor swimming pool, three waterslides and a ‘wild water course’ where you work your way round a route which is more than 100m long. It’s also worth realising that the water slides are truly impressive – they aren’t the basic flumes you get at a leisure centre. One of them involves sitting on a four seater ride and sliding down a huge tube. And that’s not the end of it. Landal Hof van Saksen has five restaurants, a bowling alley, an indoor play area, trampolines, canoeing, spa facilities, bike hire and various other sports. Most of the accommodation is lodges which sleep either 4,6 or 8 people but they do have bigger farmhouses which sleep up to 24 people. From the UK, you can get a ferry from Harwich to Hook of Holland in about 7 hours and then drive for 2 hours 30 minutes. Or you can get the Eurotunnel at Folkestone and then drive about 5 hours from Calais. Price: £2050 for a week in August 2022 for a family of two adults and two children staying in a three bedroom bungalow. It sleeps six so you could reduce the cost by bringing along some relatives. Also consider: Landal Hunerwold State in Wateren in Drenthe gets good reviews. |
2. Landal Miggelenberg or Landal Rabbit Hill, Gelderland (large parks, swimming pools, sports)
**Winner: best value Landal holiday park (Landal Miggelenberg)**
There’s a big choice of Landal GreenParks in Gelderland.
The two with the best reviews at the time of writing are Landal Miggelenberg and Landal Rabbit Hill with Landal Heihaas also scoring well. Landal Miggelenberg and Landal Rabbit Hill are both big and busy parks which offer lots of entertainment for families. You could easily stay for a week without leaving the park, although you might like to explore the local area! Landal Miggelenberg has an indoor swimming pool and splash park which will appeal to children, whilst Landal Rabbit Hill has a choice of indoor and outdoor swimming pools. During the summer months, Landal Rabbit Hill offers ‘moonlight swimming’ in the outdoor pool. Both parks offer lots of sports and games (you mostly pay extra for these). Both parks offer bowling, mini golf, bike hire, zip wire and other activities. You can also have spa treatments such as massages on certain days at both parks. In our price comparison, Landal Rabbit Hill was cheaper although we only looked at one set of dates Price: £1529 for a week for a family of four in August 2022 staying in a four person bungalow at Landal Miggelenberg. Landal Rabbit Hill’s cheapest accommodation was £1189 for a family of four staying for a week in August 2022. |
3. Landal Waterparc Veluwemeer, Flevoland (medium sized waterside park with swimming pools).
Landal Waterparc Veluwemeer is an ideal choice if you want accommodation in a waterside location with a good range of facilities.
There’s a large playground for children as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pools and the beach isn’t far away. There’s also tennis courts, minigolf, fishing and bike hire. You can take the opportunity to learn to sail, waterski, windsurf or surf. Reviews average 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.3/5 on Google reviews. Price: £1499 for a four person apartment for a week in August 2022. |
4. Landal Villapark Vogelmient, Texel (quiet park near the beach)
Landal Villapark Vogelmient is a small holiday park in the coastal Texel region.
It doesn’t have an abundance of onsite activities, but the beach is a short walk away and customer reviews are very positive. They were averaging 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.4/5 on Google when we checked, although admittedly there weren’t all that many reviews compared to some bigger parks. It’s the sort of place where you hire bikes or go for a long walk, rather than having lots of entertainment provided for you. There isn’t a restaurant, but they will deliver breakfast rolls to you. There’s a playground and playing field for children, so they can have a break from playing on their smartphones! The accommodation is detached, modern villas. Price: £1671 for a family of four, staying in a four person villa in August 2022. |
5. Landal Amerongse Berg, Utrecht (swimming pool, modern accommodation)
Landal Amerongse Berg is quite a small holiday park, but it has a better choice of facilities than most similar sized parks. The accommodation is also very modern and stylish compared to some holiday parks.
Onsite you will find an indoor swimming pool, steam bath, mini golf, fishing, indoor and outdoor playgrounds, cycling and a playing field. The Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park is nearby or Ouwehands Zoo is a short drive away. Customer reviews were 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.3/5 on Google reviews when we checked. 6. Landal West Terschelling (swimming pool nearby, watersports on the beach)
There are a couple of Landal holiday parks within Terschelling, but I would start with Landal West Terschelling which gets very positive reviews (4.5/5 on TripAdvisor). It’s also one of the cheaper Landal holiday parks within the Netherlands.
It’s a good one to choose if you want to try watersports at the beach or horse riding in the sand dunes nearby. The famous Brandaris Lighthouse is also near to the park. Onsite there’s a playground and restaurant but you have to walk a short distance to get to an indoor swimming pool which is run separately (and you have to pay an entry fee). The accommodation is apartments which are for two, four or six people. Price: £1459 for a week in August 2022 for a family of four, staying in a four person apartment |

7. Landal De Vlegge, Overijssel (watersports and lake swimming, cheap)
**Winner: cheapest holiday park in our top 10**
Landal De Vlegge doesn’t have a swimming pool, but it is near to a lake for those who want to swim outdoors. It gets very good reviews (4.5/5 on TripAdvisor, 4.3/5 on Google reviews) and it’s one of the cheapest Landal GreenParks we’ve found.
It’s a family friendly park with a good choice of facilities, although it isn’t quite as big and well equipped as parks such as Landal Miggelenberg, Landal Rabbit Hill or Landal Hof van Saksen. Landal De Vlegge has tennis, petanque, fishing, cycling and a large playground with an air trampoline. During the summer there are kids’ activities. There’s also a restaurant onsite if you want a break from cooking. Price: £1120 for a four person bungalow for a week in August 2022 |

8. Landal Ameland State, Ameland (quiet park, simple facilities, near the beach, cheap)
Landal Ameland State is one of Landal’s smaller parks, with simple facilities and a beachside location.

Don’t turn up expecting endless entertainment to be provided for you. Customers give it very good reviews, with an average of 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.3/5 on Google reviews when we checked. Onsite facilities are quite simple, compared to the non-stop entertainment at a resort park such as Landal Hof van Saksen. Price: £1519 for a small apartment for four people for a week in August 2022. |

9. Landal Kasteeldomein De Cauberg, Limburg (hilly location, swimming pool nearby)
There are several Landal parks to choose from in Limburg, but Kasteeldomein De Cauberg was receiving the best ratings from customers when we checked (4.5/5 on most review sites). Landal Hoog Vaals has a bigger range of facilities, but it mostly scores 4/5 from customers.
Landal Kasteeldomein De Cauberg is in the hills of Limburg and has a reasonably good choice of activities for adults and children nearby The park itself doesn’t have a swimming pool, but there’s a sports and leisure centre a short walk away, which can be used for free whilst you are on holiday. 10. Landal Strand Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad, Zeeland (indoor swimming pool, watersports, beach)
Landal Strand Resort Nieuwvliet-Bad is one of the more expensive Landal GreenParks, but it deserves a place in our top 10 thanks to an indoor swimming pool, a beach within walking distance and outstanding customer reviews.
The park also has indoor and outdoor playgrounds as well as children’s activities during the summer. You can also do table tennis, surfing, fishing and rowing on the lake.
