5 Best Holiday Parks Near Alton Towers And CBeebies Land - 2025
Alton Towers and CBeebies Land are on one site in a quiet part of Staffordshire (well, apart from screaming coming from the rollercoasters). The park has a big range of white-knuckle rollercoasters, whilst CBeebies Land has tamer rides aimed at younger visitors and live shows which are themed around programmes like Go Jetters, Postman Pat and In The Night Garden.
The surrounding area in Staffordshire and Derbyshire has a good choice of holiday parks, though they are mostly lodges and cabins with hot tubs at the posher end of the market rather than cheap caravans. There aren't any Haven parks or Peakdean Resorts nearby, as those are mostly by the coast.
For our top five, we looked at factors including distance from Alton Towers and CBeebies Land, customer reviews, value for money and facilities.

1. Ashbourne Heights Holiday Park - 25 minute drive from Alton Towers and CBeebies Land - swimming pool
**Winner: best value holiday park near Alton Towers**
There's a mix of caravans and posher lodges at Ashbourne Heights Holiday Park, which is 25 minutes from Alton Towers and CBeebies Land and just about within the Peak District.
It's a similar distance from Gulliver's Kingdom, which is another popular family attraction in the area. Chatsworth House is 35 minutes away.
The park itself has an indoor swimming pool and a play area, so probably the most useful things for keeping the children happy. Don't come here expecting evening entertainment and kids' clubs though, it's not that sort of place.
Reviews are decent, averaging 4/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.3/5 on Google Reviews. We couldn't find any lodges or caravans with hot tubs at this one.
Price: £1390 for a Gold Plus caravan for a family of four for a week in August 2025.

2. Woodland Lodges at Alton Towers - 8 minute walk from Alton Towers and CBeebies Land - the 'official' option
The 'official' Woodland Lodges at Alton Towers are pretty similar to the lodges that you get at holiday parks - and they aren't ludicrously priced, in my opinion.
You stay in a small resort just outside the theme park called the Enchanted Village, which currently scores 4/5 on TripAdvisor. It's an eight minute walk to a free monorail that takes you round the park and includes a stop near CBeebies Land.
The village has playgrounds and you can walk five minutes to watch the entertainment at the Alton Towers Hotel and the CBeebies Land Hotel. You're also only six minutes walk from the Alton Towers waterpark - although you have to pay separately for that. It'll cost you about £20 per person.
Other perks include a free round of minigolf and free parking - rather than coughing up £10 per day at the theme park.
So, what's the snag?
The main difference between the Enchanted Village Woodland Lodges and a holiday park is that you don't get a kitchen. Instead, you get breakfast included at the onsite restaurant called The Crooked Spoon (currently scoring 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor).
For evening meals you can either eat at an onsite restaurant or drive off in search of dinner (or eat Pot Noodles).
You also can't stay for a full week - the booking system will only let you stay for between one and five nights.
You don't get entry to the theme parks included, which might seem surprising - and you don't get early entry to the park. I think the idea is that you might spend one day at Splash Landings and then a couple of days at the theme park.
Price: £960 for four nights for a family of four in August 2025. This figure isn't very helpful for our price comparison, as it covers a shorter time but includes breakfast. If we deduct £30 per day for breakfast and work out the price per day then it would be the equivalent of about £1470 for a week.

Other 'official' holiday park-style accommodation at Alton Towers and CBeebies Land
Before we return to the off-site holiday parks near Alton Towers we'll do a quick round-up of the two other 'official' accommodation options.
Enchanted Village Treehouses
If you want 'official' self-catering facilities then your only option is to cough up for one of the eight-person Luxury Treehouses. These come with a 'kitchenette' including a microwave, toaster, dishwasher and fridge but you don't get an oven. Breakfast is included and they do takeaways in the evening - or you can eat in one of the restaurants nearby. You get plenty of space, hot tubs and cool designs but they are pricey.
Price: We checked prices for four nights in August 2025 and were quoted £4466 (yikes!). That price is for eight people and includes breakfast but it doesn't include entry to the theme park.

Glamping pods at Alton Towers and CBeebies Land
Your other holiday-park style option is a 'Stargazing Pod' in the Enchanted Village. These are basic glamping pods that are a seven minute walk to the Alton Towers monorail. They are pretty small and don't have a lot inside them, but they are one step up from camping in that you get a bed and heating. Each pod is about the size of a large garden shed and has enough beds for four people as well as shared toilets and showers. In the morning, you get a takeaway breakfast bap and a coffee to get you through the rest of the day...
You don't get any cooking facilities, so you'll need to budget for eating out. On the plus side, you get free parking and a free round of minigolf.
Price: £663 for four nights in August 2025. That works out as about £165 per night - but you'll need to add on the cost of eating out for lunch and dinner (apologies to those of you who use the words 'lunch' and 'dinner' to refer to the same thing - but hopefully you know what I mean).

There are also official hotels at Alton Towers - we'll cover those at the bottom of the page, as they aren't really similar to a holiday park.
3. Lime Tree Park - 35 minutes drive from Alton Towers and CBeebies Land - cheap caravans
**Winner: cheapest holiday park near Alton Towers**
Lime Tree Park near Buxton is a slightly longer drive but it's by far the cheapest place to stay near Alton Towers and CBeebies Land in our top 5.
Most of the accommodation is in caravans but they do also have lodges and apartments which weren't a lot more expensive when we checked (about £100 extra for a week in peak season in our comparison).
There's not much to do onsite, besides a play area and a pool table but it's in a central location for exploring the Peak District and then managing a day or two at Alton Towers and CBeebiesland.
Customers give Lime Tree Park very positive reviews of 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor.
Price: £695 for a week for a family of four in a Chestnut caravan in August 2024. We couldn't find prices for 2025 but will update when they are released.

4. Sandybrook - 25 minutes drive from Alton Towers/CBeebies Land - swimming pool, lots to do
Sandybrook is a sort-of mini Center Parcs, which gets fantastic reviews and offers a lot of facilities onsite. It's not the cheapest, and you pay extra for some activities but it's competitively priced.
Alton Towers and CBeebies Land is 25 minutes away, but it's also on the edge of the Peak District, so you can also have a day out in Matlock or Buxton easily enough.
The accommodation is lodges, so slightly sturdier than caravans. Customer reviews average 4.5/5. Onsite there's an indoor swimming pool, outdoor play area and woodland walks (all included within the price). The extra activities are things like minigolf, fencing or archery.
It was previously part of the Landal Greenparks chain, which is popular in Europe.
Price: £1409 for a family of four in a Tissington Classic Skyline lodge for a week in August 2025.

5. Quarry Walk Park - 10 minutes drive from Alton Towers and CBeebies Land - hot tubs and nature trail
Quarry Walk Park is also known as Quarry Walk Lodges on some websites. They've got various lodges and log cabins and solid customer reviews of about 4/5 or slightly higher on Hoseasons.
They've got a good choice of lodges with hot tubs, including two bedroom and three bedroom lodges for four or six people. Reviews of the different types of lodge are very positive.
There are nature trails and a play area, but that's about it onsite. The real trump card is that it's only a 10 minute drive to Alton Towers and CBeebies Land. You'll be glad of the short journey after a day exploring the huge site...
Price: £1429 for a 'Badger' lodge cabin with a hot tub, for a family of four for a week in August 2025.

6. Ramshorn Estate Woodland Lodges - 5 minutes drive from Alton Towers - good for big groups
Ramshorn Estate Woodland Lodges is definitely one to consider if you're travelling in a large group, as there were lodges for families of 8, 12 or 14.
The accommodation is spacious and it's a stone's throw from CBeebies Land and Alton Towers (please don't throw stones, you'll be asked to leave).
There aren't many facilities onsite, but there are hot tubs. There was also pet friendly accommodation when we checked, although bear in mind that you can't take dogs into Alton Towers ('except for guide dogs, hearing dogs and registered assistance dogs').
Customer reviews are about 4/5 or 4.7/5 on Google Reviews.
Price: £2239 for a week in a holiday home with a hot tub in August 2024. This is a lodge for eight people, so better value for a larger family. We couldn't find prices for 2025.
