About Holiday Park Guru
Holiday Park Guru was created by former BBC journalist and holiday park enthusiast, Robbie Lane. It is the sister site to Isle of Wight Guru.
We've visited and stayed at more than 100 holiday parks around the UK to see how they compare on accommodation, facilities and sea views as well as how spacious they feel and how modern and clean they are.
We look beyond the official photos and give you genuine on-the-ground insight into things like this:
Our site covers all the big holiday parks in resorts such as Devon, Cornwall and Dorset as well as many of the smaller independent caravan sites with simpler facilities.
As well as offering our personal experiences, we also analyse the data and crunch the numbers to see how the UK's holiday parks compare on customer review scores, travel time from UK cities, walking times to local beaches and the sort of weather you can expect on your holiday.

- Does the swimming pool look as clean and spacious as it does in the brochure? Is it a tiny puddle of water or a waterpark with a six lane slide?
- Is the playground nice and new or is it falling to pieces and flooded?
- Is it easy to get to the local beach or do you have to cross a motorway to get to it?
- Do you actually get a sea view or does the official website use a bit of creative photography?
- Which part of the resort has the best views?
- Does all the accommodation look similar, or is something of it worn out?
- Is one part of the holiday park next door to a noisy main road or an entertainment lounge that doesn't close until midnight?
- Are the signs around the site consistent and on-brand or does it look like it hasn't been touched since the 1980s?
- Are the grounds of the holiday park beautifully landscaped or is it overgrown with weeds?
- Has the tarmac at the holiday park been recently replaced or it is full of potholes?
