1. Vakantiepark Het Drentse Wold, Drenthe, Netherlands (simple park, woodland location)
**Winner: cheapest holiday park in our top 10**
Vakantiepark Het Drentse Wold is a simple holiday park, but it gets some of the best reviews out of all the 100+ Roompot Holiday Parks. When we checked it was scoring 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and Google reviews.
It's a completely car-free site on the edge of a woodland so it's ideal if you want to ride a bike or go for a walk. It's not one to go for if you want endless family entertainment laid on for you.
Onsite there are a handful activities including badminton, football, table tennis, volleyball and a playground. There's a swimming pool nearby and (most importantly) there is also free Wifi onsite.
It's in Drenthe which is in the North East of the Netherlands. If you're bringing the car, it will take you about 4 hours 30 minutes to drive from Calais. Getting to Calais is pretty easy from the South East of England, as it's only about 35 minutes in the Eurotunnel from Folkestone.
Price: £853 for a week for a family of four in early August 2024 staying in a three bedroom bungalow.

2. Havenresort Terherne, Friesland, Netherlands (marina side accommodation, simple facilities)
Havenresort Terherne is a quirky holiday park in the north of the Netherlands which scores 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor and Google reviews.
The accommodation overlooks a harbour filled with yachts. You can either bring your own yacht or hang around one of them and pretend that you own it if anyone asks.
Besides the attractive setting, there's a modest number of activities onsite for visitors including a football pitch, playground, table tennis and boat or bike hire. There's also a golf course nearby, and the historic city of Leeuwarden is 25 minutes' drive away if you want a wander.
Price: £1174 for week for a family of four in August 2024 staying in a two-bedroom bungalow with a balcony.

3. Roompot Resort Arcen, Limburg, Netherlands (large park with indoor pool, lake, sports)
There's a good choice of Roompot caravan and holiday parks in the region of Limburg in the south of the Netherlands. It's one of the easier parts of the country to reach from the UK by car and is very near to both Belgium and Germany.
We've picked out the large holiday park in Limburg called Roompot Resort Arcen, but Roompot Buitenhof de Leistert is also worth a look. Resort Arcen is very close to the German border and scores 4.2/5 on Google reviews or 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor.
It's a family-friendly holiday park, rather than one for couples seeking silence and isolation. There's an indoor swimming pool, a lake, fishing, playground, table tennis, trampolining, minigolf and watersports. There's also a kids' club and restaurant.
Price: £1477 for a week in a three bedroom 'Butenverblijf' chalet for a family of four in August 2024.

4. Roompot Strandpark Duynhille, South Holland, Netherlands (coastal holiday park, some facilities)
If you want a Roompot holiday park in a coastal location, take a look at Strandpark Duynhille in South Holland. It isn't the cheapest Roompot park but it scores 4.3/5 on Google reviews and 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor.
Strandpark Duynhille is a medium sized holiday park which is about a 10 minute walk to the beach. There isn't an onsite swimming pool, so it is one to choose if you want a bit of time at the seaside rather than sat on a sun lounger.
Facilities aren't quite as abundant as they are at some Roompot holiday parks but you can hire bikes, try out some laser tag, play at the playground or go to the onsite kids' club. You can also eat onsite. The seaside town of Ouddorp isn't too far away.
Most of the accommodation is modern bungalows.
Price: £1868 for a week in a two-bedroom bungalow for a family of four in August 2024.

5. Roompot Noordzee Résidence Cadzand-Bad, Zeeland, Netherlands (beachside, sports)
The Zeeland coast is a popular spot for a holiday in the Netherlands and it's also relatively easy to reach by car from the UK.
Roompot Noordzee Résidence Cadzand-Bad is one worth considering as it combines a good choice of facilities with a beachside location and positive customer reviews (4.4/5 on Google reviews, 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor). It's a large site which is family friendly, although it doesn't have an onsite swimming pool. Many of the chalets overlook the water.
Entertainment onsite includes minigolf, bike hire, bowling, laser tag, a playground and sports including tennis and football. You can also eat onsite at the restaurant.
Price: £1485 for a week in a semi-detached holiday home for a family of four in August 2024. You'll pay quite a bit more if you want your own jetty (I guess they assume you can afford it, if you can afford a boat).

6. Roompot Vakanties Buitonhof Domburg, Zeeland, Netherlands (large park, beach, swimming pool)
Another appealing Roompot holiday park in the Zeeland region of the Netherlands is Buitonhof Domburg which averages 4/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.2/5 on Google reviews.
It's a very large holiday park which offers both an indoor swimming pool and a beach within walking distance. There's also a wellness centre at the park which you can book separately if you want a spa treatment whilst you're on holiday (assuming you can escape from the children for an hour).
Other facilities onsite include kids' clubs, mini golf, play areas, tennis, football, trampolines and bowling. There's a golf course nearby, which may be the clincher for some people.
There's a big range of accommodation including some riverside thatched cottages which looks rather twee and English. It's certainly one of the more expensive Roompot holiday parks in the Netherlands but it does have a lot going for it.
Price: £2499 for a week in a three bedroom detached villa for a family of four in August 2024.

7. Roompot Waterpark Belterweide, Overijssel, Netherlands (waterside, basic facilities)
Ideally, you want to turn up at Roompot Waterpark Belterweide with your own boat to park at your jetty. Unfortunately, that isn't an option for most of us, but it's still a popular holiday resort in the Eastern side of the Netherlands. Customer reviews average 4.4/5 on Google and 4/5 on TripAdvisor.
If you don't have your own boat you can still enjoy the waterside location, onsite restaurant, bike hire and fishing.
Perhaps you could attempt to blag it by learning some key Dutch phrases such as "mijn boot wordt momenteel gerepareerd" ("my boat is currently being repaired") and "mijn man heeft onze boot naar de golfbaan gebracht" ("my husband has taken our boat to the golf course").
Amsterdam is about 1 hour 20 minutes away if you want a day out.
Price: £1492 for a week in a two-bedroom villa with a jetty for a family of four in August 2024.

8. Vakanties Resort Duynzicht, North Holland, Netherlands (small and quiet park)
Vakanties Resort Duynzicht is one to consider if you want somewhere which is a) quiet and b) convenient for visiting Amsterdam. It isn't the one to go for if you're looking for non-stop onsite entertainment.
There's no swimming pool onsite but the beach is only half a mile away, so you can walk there in about 10 minutes - or about an hour if you are attempting to take a toddler with you.
Amsterdam is just over an hour away in the car, so close enough for a day trip.
You can hire bikes onsite and there's a play area, but that's about it. This really is best to be thought of as a base for exploring North Holland. It scores well with customers, with average scores of 4.5/5 on Google reviews of 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor. Some of the posher accommodation includes hot tubs/jacuzzis.
Price: £2315 for a week in a three-bedroom villa for a family of four in August 2024.

9. Vakantiepark De Berkenhorst, Gelderland (woodland setting, swimming pool)
Vakantiepark De Berkenhorst is in the middle of the Netherlands, about one hour east of Amsterdam.
The location is very rural, with accommodation amongst the trees and a lake near some of the properties.
There’s a bowling alley, minigolf course, a playground, pool tables, volleyball, table tennis and darts. If you want to explore, you can hire bikes. It’s got a small indoor swimming pool with a slide as well as a sauna and hot tub.
Customer reviews are 3.9/5 on Google reviews or 8.5/10 on Roompot’s own website.
