Best Pontins Holiday Parks - 2025
Pontins has changed a fair bit in recent years, most notably with the closure of Pontins Prestatyn and Pontins Camber Sands, as well as Pontins Southport and Pontins Brean Sands.
Both of the remaining Pontins sites are adults only resorts, so you can no longer book family holidays (as far as I can tell anyway).
Our original comparison of Pontins resorts is a bit shorter than it once was, but we shall plough on regardless.
Here's our summary of the two Pontins resorts based on price, location, reviews and facilities.
For our price comparison, we looked for a holiday in August 2024.

1. Pontins Pakefield Holiday Park Suffolk coast - adults only
We think Pontins Pakefield Holiday Park in Suffolk is Pontins' best option for adults who want half board or a fully catered holiday.
Average customer reviews give it 6/10.
Onsite, it doesn't have quite as much to do as some holiday parks but there is entertainment in the form of bingo and sequin-clad singers. There's a swimming pool and places to eat onsite.
Pontins Pakefield doesn't have much self catering accommodation, so you'll need to pay for half board at least, which adds to the cost of a holiday.
In terms of location, it is right on the coast about 10 minutes drive from Lowestoft. You can walk to the beach.
Lowestoft has a fairly decent range of attractions including Pleasurewood Hills theme park, Africa Alive Adventure Park and East Anglia Transport Museum.
Price: we couldn't find prices for 2025 when we searched. However, it was £556 for three nights in a 'Standard' apartment for four adults in August 2024, including half board (i.e. breakfast and evening meal). This works out at £185 per night, equivalent of £1295 for a week.

2. Pontins Sand Bay Holiday Park Somerset - adults only
Pontins Sand Bay in Somerset averages about 6/10 or 7/10 from customers.
It is particularly recommended for 50+. Don't organise a stag do here, unless The Lads happen to be big fans of Motown-themed weekends.
Onsite, it's got an indoor swimming pool with a sauna, a ballroom with a dance floor and evening entertainment (live music, cabaret). There's also a café and bar, bowls, darts and a TV lounge.
You can walk to the beach or if you want to explore further, the famous pier at Weston Super Mare is about 10 minutes by car.
Lots of the breaks at Sand Bay are themed and are three or four nights, rather than a full week.
Price: again, we couldn't find prices for 2025. In 2024, it was £516 for four adults, staying in a popular apartment for 4 nights for a ‘Best of British' themed stay in August. That included breakfast and evening meal and works out at £129 per night, equivalent of £903 for a week.
