10 Best Isle Of Wight Caravan Holiday Parks 2026
The Isle of Wight is a fantastic family holiday location with sandy beaches, summertime festivals and a history of Kings and Queens (well, King Charles I and Queen Victoria at least).
It's got a big choice of beaches, ranging from sandy bucket-and-spade locations like Sandown and Shanklin, through to isolated rocky spots along the South Wight coastline. It's also home to the world's largest yachting Regatta (Cowes Week) and the Isle of Wight Festival. As you might have gathered, I'm a big fan.
The cost of the Isle of Wight ferry can add a lot to the cost, particularly if you visit during summer school holidays (return fares for cars can be £300 at peak times). However, several holiday parks can get you a hefty discount so you will pay more like £100-£150 on peak or £70-£100 during off peak dates.
Most offer some discount but we've found particularly big ferry discounts via Away Resorts (Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, The Lakes, Rookley and St Helen’s) and via Parkdean Resorts (Nodes Point, Landguard, Lower Hyde and Thorness Bay).
We’ve picked 10 caravan holiday parks worth a look, including busy family friendly holiday parks with indoor swimming pools as well as some quiet holiday parks.

1. Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park Bembridge (busy holiday park, beachside, indoor swimming pool, big ferry discount)
**Whitecliff Bay Discount Code: up to 10% off via this link with code AWRAF7 until 31/12/25 + cheap ferry travel**
Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park’s trump card is its location next to a beautiful sandy beach, which doesn’t get too busy as it is only really used by residents at a couple of holiday parks.
The park itself is run by Away Resorts and has indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The indoor pool is quite small but it has a slide that we enjoyed whooshing down at great speed. When we visited, the pump had gone wrong so it sounded like a leaf blower but I was told it was a temporary issue! We spent more time in the outdoor pool, which has been re-lined and smartened up in recent years.
There's also a sauna, table tennis, a playground, crazy golf, soft play as well as kids' and evening entertainment. They also put on outdoor cinema during the summer and there are various activities you can pay extra for. The beach café wasn't open when we last stayed at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park (in 2025) but hopefully it will re-open soon.
Bembridge is on the east of the Isle of Wight. It’s near to Sandown and Ryde but it’s a long drive to The Needles in the West Wight (well, an hour, which is a long drive by Isle of Wight standards)

Reviews, ferry discounts and our visit to Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park
Reviews average 82%, including 4/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.2/5 on Google Reviews. We'll use this metric to compare review scores throughout this top 10 (Ed: great use of the word 'metric').
Make sure you take advantage of the generous ferry discount that you can get by booking via Away Resorts. We checked prices for a week in the summer holidays and found that the price of the ferry dropped from £236 to £105 if you used the Away Resorts discount!
Prices at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park vary a bit depending on the day you arrive. It's worth being flexible as weekday arrivals can be quite a lot cheaper than breaks that start on Saturdays or Sundays.
When we stayed at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, a few things jumped out at us. The route down to the beach is very convenient and is genuinely adjacent to the park, rather than requiring a long walk. However, the path down to the beach is very steep. Visit the beach at low tide if you can for the best experience. There is also a public road that splits the park into two, so you need to be a bit cautious when letting children explore.
Some of the posher accommodation with hot tubs is on the side of the road furthest from the beach - including TriBeCa Village and Itchycoo Park. The good news is that they are on a hill so get some good wide views.
The very best views are from a group of five caravans in the part of the park called Solent View.
Price: £928 for a family of four for a week in August 2026 in a 'Value Chalet'. These are flat-roofed terraced properties rather than caravans. The cheapest caravan was about £300 more for the dates we checked.

2. Nodes Point Holiday Park St Helen's (good facilities, beachside, indoor swimming pool)
**Winner: best value Isle of Wight holiday park**
**Nodes Point offers: Caravan holidays from £99**
Parkdean Resorts Nodes Point will tick most boxes for a family looking for a beach holiday on the Isle of Wight. It's a former Park Resorts holiday park that is also dog friendly.
The park is right next to the sandy(ish) beach at St. Helen’s that has knee-deep water for paddling. It’s also got enough onsite to fill a couple of days if the sun doesn’t shine, including an indoor swimming pool, all-weather sports court, adventure playground and bar and restaurant. In the summer you can ride horses along the beach and pretend you’re in a 1980s film. We did this and enjoyed it greatly, despite it being a very grey day.

Average reviews, deals and our visit to Nodes Point
Nodes Point gets solid reviews of 83%, including 4/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.3/5 on Google Reviews. That puts it a whisker ahead of Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, but probably not enough to swing the decision.
Nodes Point is at the eastern end of the Isle of Wight in a quiet area, so you’ll need a car if you want to visit busier resorts like Shanklin, Ventnor or Ryde.
As with Whitecliff Bay, you can get a good discount on the Isle of Wight ferry by booking with the holiday park company.
When we stayed at Nodes Point Holiday Park in 2024, we were in a lodge towards the bottom of the park. This meant that we were literally two minutes walk from the beach - which was as appealing as it sounds. I woke up early on a couple of occasions and went for early morning walks and it also meant we could have 20 minute beach trips after tea.
However, the layout of the site is such that you are more likely to get a sea view as you climb the hill. The entertainment complex is on the top of the hill and all the caravans and lodges near it get a sea view.
It's a little tricky to figure out where your accommodation will be, but I would say the ideal would be on the hill between the beach and the restaurant. You'll get a sea view and a beach access all in one.
Price: £765 for a family of four staying in a Farringford chalet for a week in August 2026. Note that this price is for a 'chalet' rather than a caravan. You'll need to add on about £500 for a caravan.

3. Lower Hyde Holiday Park Shanklin (indoor swimming pool, near railway, 20 mins walk to beach)
**Lower Hyde offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + cheap ferry travel**
Lower Hyde is the sister holiday park to Landguard in Shanklin (see #4). They’re both busy parks with plenty to do and they get similar reviews. Seeing as you asked, I'll reveal that Lower Hyde averages 81%, whilst Landguard averages 80%.
I would recommend either park to families looking for a fairly cheap holiday park with plenty to do onsite, and with a sandy beach within walking distance.
Shanklin is a charming seaside town and is ideal if you like seafront attractions and deckchairs, rather than unspoilt crumbling cliffs. I grew up nearby and have spent many hours at Shanklin's three minigolf courses, excellent amusement arcade or in one of the seafront cafes.

Swimming pools, cheap ferries and our visit to Lower Hyde Holiday Park
When we visited the holiday parks, we concluded that we preferred Lower Hyde to Landguard, as it's got a more spacious and leafy layout. You can also park your car next to your caravan at Lower Hyde, whereas Landguard has a shared car park.
Landguard's main advantage is that it has an indoor swimming pool, whereas Lower Hyde just has an outdoor pool. However, the two parks are linked with a footpath and you can use the facilities at either of them regardless of which one you choose.
Another slight advantage that Lower Hyde offers over Landguard is that is a bit nearer to the train station at Shanklin. So, you could easily get the foot passenger ferry or hovercraft to Ryde Pierhead or Ryde Esplanade and then take the short train ride to Shanklin.
You’ll be able to get around the Isle of Wight on the buses, though it is a fair bit slower than driving (see our Isle of Wight Guru site for public transport advice).
You get a jumbo-sized discount on the Isle of Wight ferry with this one as well.
Price: £815 for a 'Seagull' chalet for a family of four for a week during August 2026. Caravans are more expensive than chalets and start at £989 for the peak time dates we checked.

4. Landguard Holiday Park Shanklin (indoor swimming pool, 20 minutes walk to beach)
**Landguard offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + cheap ferry travel**
As discussed in fascinating detail above (number 3), there are two Parkdean Resorts caravan holiday parks in Shanklin – Landguard and Lower Hyde. They are both former Park Resorts holiday parks and you can use facilities at either one, regardless of which one you choose.
They get near identical review scores and are both about 20 minutes walk from the beach.
Landguard and Lower Hyde both have places to eat, kids entertainment and play areas but Landguard is a bit quieter and has more relaxed entertainment.
If they are the same price, I would go for Lower Hyde. If Landguard is considerably cheaper then go for that one and use the facilities at Lower Hyde. When we visited Landguard Holiday Park, we liked the look of the swimming pool but felt that the caravans were laid out more attractively at Lower Hyde.
Price: £885 for a Beech caravan for a week for a family of four in August 2026 (sleeps up to six so you could bring a couple of extras and get them to cough up their fair share).

5. The Lakes, Rookley (central location, indoor swimming pool, good ferry discount)
**The Lakes Discount Code: up to 10% off via this link with code AWRAF7 until 31/12/25 + cheap ferry travel**
The Lakes, Rookley was previously called Rookley Country Park before it was taken over by Aria Resorts and then sold to Away Resorts (Ed: should I be taking notes?).
Its review score is currently at 75%, including 4/5 on Google Reviews or 3.5/5 on TripAdvisor. That puts it a little behind Whitecliff Bay, Nodes Point, Landguard and Lower Hyde - but I still think it's one to consider.

Location, facilities and our visit to The Lakes Rookley
When we visited The Lakes Rookley we noted that the current owners have spent quite a bit of money on upgrades in the last few years.
We also like its central location, which means you’ll never drive more than about 20-25 minutes for a day out. The downside is that you can't wander down to the beach in an evening, which is much easier from Nodes Point, Whitecliff Bay and Thorness Bay (see #8). The local village of Rookley is nice enough, but not as interesting as a seaside village. Walkers should head towards nearby Chillerton Down and Gatcombe Down for some terrific views. I explored the area on a mountain bike recently and kept talking to myself about how nice it was.
The Lakes Rookley has got indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as a bar, a children’s playground and somewhere to eat. The lakes are used for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. They also put on entertainment during peak periods.
The nearest beaches are family friendly ones at Sandown, Shanklin or Ventnor ,which are all about 15 minutes in the car. You can bring dogs and - as with other Away Resorts sites - you get a ferry discount.
Price: £898 for a week in a two bedroom 'Comfort' caravan for a family of four in August 2026.

6. St Helen’s Coastal Resort (outdoor swimming pool, good reviews, big ferry discount)
**St Helens Discount Code: Up to 10% off via this link with code AWRAF7 until 31/12/25 + cheap ferry travel**
St Helen’s Coastal Resort is another one that has changed its name a few times. You'll also see it called St Helen's Holiday Park. It is now owned by Away Resorts, who took over the site in 2022. It is near to Nodes Point Holiday Park, but it’s a much quieter and smaller option with simpler facilities.
Reviews average 4.4/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.5/5 on Google reviews - giving us a dazzling average score of 89%. You couldn’t spend all week onsite, but if you’ve travelled miles and then got on a ferry to waste all your time in a bingo hall then there’s no helping you…

The local area and our stay at St Helen's Coastal Resort
When we stayed at St Helen's Coastal Resort we took advantage of the outdoor swimming pool, which is small but heated. We also enjoyed the space outside the lodges where you can kick a ball around. Some of the lodge accommodation has hot tubs, although we didn't have one in ours. It took us about 15 minutes to walk to the beach during our stay, so we tended to drive and pay to park.
I personally really liked the local area, which has a nature reserve called The Duver that is looked after by the National Trust. It’s also near to posh Bembridge and there’s a watersports company in the area where you can hire kayaks or standup paddleboards.
Price: £1105 for a family of four, staying in a 'luxury caravan' for a week in August 2026.

7. Cheverton Copse Holiday Park Sandown (basic facilities, outstanding reviews)
Cheverton Copse gets the best reviews of all of the Isle of Wight's holiday parks - and it is one of the cheaper options.
However, it's not for everyone because there's not a lot to do onsite and it isn't right by the sea. It's best to think of it as a base for a cheap and peaceful holiday, rather than somewhere to slide down some flumes.
There isn’t a swimming pool, but there is a games room, a children’s play area and a clubhouse during peak season. It’s a couple of miles inland on the busier and more touristy side of the Isle of Wight, half way between Sandown and Shanklin. Personally, I prefer Shanklin to Sandown. The latter has its plus points, but some of Sandown's seafront is suffering from empty hotels.
Reviews are consistently brilliant, averaging 4.9/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.7/5 on Google Reviews. That gives us an average of 96% - which is about as good as it gets. Having visited the site myself, I can see why it's done so well.
Price: £900 for a Sussex Silver caravan for a week in August 2026 for a family of four.

8. Thorness Bay Holiday Park (indoor swimming, beachside)
**Thorness Bay offers: Caravan holidays from £99 + cheap ferry travel**
Thorness Bay is another Parkdean Resorts holiday park (it was a Park Resorts site before the companies merged).
Generally, it doesn’t get as good reviews as you’ll find at the other three Parkdean Resorts sites on the Isle of Wight (Landguard, Lower Hyde and Nodes Point). More specifically, it scores 74% whilst the others are on 80% - 82%.
However, it does have some plus points.
In most price comparisons we’ve done it is the cheapest of the four, so is a good option if you want a well-equipped and busy family holiday park on a budget.

Location, dogs and our visit to Thorness Bay Holiday Park
On our visit to Thorness Bay we noted that it is in a very remote location, on the rarely explored North-West coast of the Island (you’ll need a car). We enjoyed a stunning sunset at beach, but it's definitely a scrubby natural haven type of place, rather than a sandy beach with ice cream stalls. The beach seems to be mostly used by holiday park residents, plus a few visiting anglers and is right on the park’s doorstep.
Onsite at Thorness Bay you’ll find an indoor swimming pool, as well as a sports court, adventure playground, bar and restaurant and the usual entertainments. You can bring dogs and guests get a good discount on the ferry.
Price comparison: £785 for a week in a Regatta Chalet for a family of four in August 2026. If you prefer a caravan to a chalet then the best price we found was £855.

9. Orchards Holiday Park (indoor and outdoor swimming)
Orchards Holiday Park is a friendly caravan park that is well placed for exploring the West Wight, which (in my opinion) is the prettiest side of the Island.
It’s a quiet location and you couldn’t spend all week onsite, but its trump card is its indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Don’t expect bingo nights or karaoke, but you can hope that the children might put down their smartphones and get some fresh air.
It isn’t right by the beach unfortunately, but the Isle of Wight isn’t huge so you can be at the coast in about 10 minutes in a car. It's near to Tapnell Farm Park and it isn't far from Freshwater Bay and Compton Bay, which are both nice beaches.
Reviews are very good for this one – averaging 4.4/5 on TripAdvisor and 4.5/5 on Google Reviews. That's an impressive total of 89%.
Price: £1050 for a Pippin caravan for a week in August 2026 for a family of four. That's an increase of £100 on last year's price, but is still a decent price compared to other holiday parks on the Isle of Wight with similar reviews.

10. Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park (outdoor pool, rural location, great reviews)
Appuldurcombe Gardens is the only holiday park in the South of the Isle of Wight to make our list, and it gets great reviews of 92% (including 4.6/5 on TripAdvisor and Google Reviews).
It’s got an outdoor swimming pool in summer and a play area and bar. Appuldurcombe Gardens is also right by the remains of an old manor house, which has grounds designed by Capability Brown, which makes for a rather idyllic setting.
You’ll need a car for this one. It’s a short drive to Ventnor, which is a pleasant seaside town that still thinks it is the 19th century. There are also some nice walks in the local area.
It's also fairly near to Steephill Cove, which is a pretty little beach with cottages and a couple of places to eat.
Price: £980 for a week in a Luccombe caravan for a family of four in August 2025. We couldn't find prices for 2026, but will update when they become available (if we remember!)

Price comparison of the Isle of Wight's 10 best caravan holiday parks
Yes, we know that prices vary throughout the year and that there are special offers...
For what it's worth here is our price comparison for a family of four staying in an Isle of Wight holiday park caravan for a week in August 2026. We looked for the cheapest option available and searched in September 2025. Most were arriving and leaving on a Saturday, but a couple were Friday or Sunday arrival instead.
Images are from Away Resorts, Parkdean Resorts, Appuldurcombe Gardens and Orchards Holiday Park.
**These seven are owned by Away Resorts and Parkdean Resorts. Both offer a generous discount on the Isle of Wight ferry. It should save you about £50-£150, so factor that into your calculations.
