The closest Center Parcs in Europe to the UK is Center Parcs Park De Haan in Belgium. It’s about 90 minutes' drive from Calais (via Eurotunnel or ferry), making it the quickest European Center Parcs to reach from the UK by car.
If you want the best-reviewed option that’s still relatively quick to reach, Center Parcs Vossemeren in Belgium is around 3 hours 20 minutes from Calais. Closest Center Parcs in Europe to the UK: At a glance
Center Parcs Europe Top tip: CenterParcs.fr is nearly always cheaper than CenterParcs.eu for exactly the same holiday. The saving can be more than €100 for a week's summer holiday. Your browser will translate CenterParcs.fr to English if you don't speak French!
How long does it take to reach Center Parcs in Europe from the UK?
Travel time depends on where you live in the UK (obviously), but most visitors travel via the Eurotunnel (now called Le Shuttle) from Folkestone to Calais, which takes around 35 minutes. From Calais, it’s then a straightforward drive to Belgium, northern France or the southern Netherlands.
Approximate total travel times (including Eurotunnel crossing):
These times don't allow time for checking in at the Eurotunnel. You are advised to arrive at least one hour before your departure time. Resorts slightly further inland, such as Center Parcs Vossemeren or De Kempervennen, typically add around 1.5 to 2 hours to the drive from Calais. Is it worth travelling to Center Parcs in Europe instead of the UK?
For many families, the answer is yes. Center Parcs in Belgium, France and the Netherlands are often significantly cheaper than UK Center Parcs for peak dates, even after factoring in Eurotunnel or ferry costs. We've found the accommodation can be half price*, although it does vary significantly.
However, travel time is longer and accommodation standards can vary more between European parks. You also need to add on the extra costs such as fuel, European Breakdown cover, European travel insurance and the cost of the Eurotunnel or ferry. In our research and personal experience, we've found that Center Parcs Europe offers the best savings on longer breaks at peak times. You'll probably save a good chunk of money if you're visiting for a week in August - but not if you're doing a midweek break in November. You can see a full price comparison in our guide to Center Parcs Europe vs UK.

Here's our detailed guide to each of the five Center Parcs that are closest to the UK.
1. Center Parcs Park de Haan, Belgium - 1 hour 24 minutes from Calais (67% review score)
Center Parcs Park De Haan is the closest European Center Parcs to the UK, located just 1 hour 24 minutes from Calais in Belgium (based on typical driving and traffic). It’s a coastal park with a large Aqua Mundo swimming complex and over 60 activities, but its review scores are more mixed than most other Belgian parks. The resort only scores 2.9/5 on TripAdvisor. Reviews on Google reviews are a little better at 3.8/5. That gives us an average of 67%.
Despite that, if your priority is the shortest journey from Britain, it’s the clear winner. Pros and Cons of Center Parcs Park de Haan
Pros
Swimming Pool (Aqua Mundo)
The Aqua Mundo at Park De Haan offers the typical Center Parcs experience: wave pool, slides, children’s play areas and family-friendly layout. While it isn’t the newest Aqua Mundo in Europe, it remains one of the main attractions and is well suited to families with younger children. The pools average review score is an impressive 82% (swimming pools are reviewed separately at most Center Parcs in Europe, as they are available to day visitors).
Accommodation
Accommodation ranges from Comfort cottages to larger Premium and VIP options. Some areas reflect the park’s age, although refurbishments have improved standards since the 2020 rebrand from Sun Parks. It’s best suited to families looking for value rather than luxury. As well as the usual cottages, there are some lakeside lodges with great views.
Facilities and Activities
There are over 60 activities at Park de Haan, including around 27 free options. These include cycling, water sports, indoor sports facilities and children’s entertainment. The activity range is solid but certainly not the largest in Belgium.
Location
Park De Haan is a coastal resort, which is unusual but not unique amongst Center Parcs in Europe (see our guide to beachside Center Parcs). The location makes it the quickest European Center Parcs to reach from the UK via Eurotunnel by some distance. The main languages in Belgium are Flemish (similar to Dutch) and French. However, you can get a long way speaking English in Belgium.
Is It Worth It?
If convenience and travel time are your top priorities, yes. However, if you’re willing to drive further inland, parks such as Vossemeren or Erperheide consistently score higher with guests. We stayed at Erperheide and felt it was a similar standard to the UK resorts.
Price
In our price comparisons, we found a week's holiday in August 2026 at Center Parcs Park de Haan for £1822. That was based on the cheapest accommodation for a family of four and doesn't include travel costs. That puts it somewhere in the middle on price compared to other Center Parcs in Europe.
You usually get the best prices by booking through the French version of the Center Parcs Europe website (we concluded this after a lot of price checking!). Final Verdict
Center Parcs Park De Haan is the closest European Center Parcs to the UK. It’s ideal for families who want minimal travel time, but it is not the highest-rated Belgian park overall.

2. Center Parcs Lac d'Ailette, France - 2 hours 35 minutes drive from Calais (69% review score)
Center Parcs Lac d’Ailette is the second closest Center Parcs to the UK, located 2 hours 35 minutes from Calais, based on typical journey time. It's in a nice lakeside location and it performs well in price comparisons (see our full guide to Center Parcs in France).
However, it gets similar review scores to Center Parcs Park de Haan (see above) - 3.2/5 on TripAdvisor and 3.7/5 on Google reviews. That gives us a total of 69%, which is some way behind the 4/5 and 4.1/5 awarded to another French resort called Le Bois Aux Daims (81% overall). Pros and Cons
Pros
Swimming Pool (Aqua Mundo)
The Aqua Mundo includes slides, wave features and children’s areas. While not the newest in France, it provides the classic Center Parcs pool experience and is popular with families. The pool scores 82% from reviewers, which is on a par with Park de Haan.
Accommodation
Lac d’Ailette opened in 2007, making it newer than Park De Haan. Accommodation feels more modern overall, with a good range of cottage types. It’s suited to families looking for good value without travelling too far into France. Just like Park de Haan, it has some lakeside lodges.
Facilities and Activities
Center Parcs Lac d'Ailette has 92 facilities and activities, which is about 30 more than Center Parcs Park de Haan. It is worth mentioning the caveat here that Center Parcs lists similar activities as separate things on their website. For example, each feature within the swimming pool counts as a different activity.
Location
Lac d’Ailette is in Northern France, approximately 2 hours 35 minutes from Calais. It's a couple of hours North East of Paris, so a bit too far for a day trip unfortunately.
Is It Worth It?
If you want a French Center Parcs within reasonable driving distance of Calais and at a competitive price, it’s a strong option. However, Le Bois Aux Daims scores much higher with reviewers if you are willing to drive an extra three hours.
Price
In our price comparisons, Center Parcs Lac d'Ailette was one of the cheapest French Center Parcs. We found that a week in August 2026 starts at £1509, which is about £300 less than Center Parcs Park de Haan.
Final Verdict
Center Parcs Lac d’Ailette offers a good balance of distance, pricing and facilities, but it isn’t the highest-rated park in France with reviewers.
Personally, I would drive a little further and go for a Belgian resort, unless the language barrier means that you would feel a little more comfortable at a French Center Parcs than a Dutch or Belgian one. When we visited Center Parcs Erperheide in Belgium we found that all of the staff spoke good English so the language wasn't an issue. 3. Center Parcs Vossemeren, Belgium - 3 hours 18 minutes from Calais (81% review score)
Center Parcs Vossemeren is one of the highest-rated European Center Parcs within driving distance of the UK. It's 3 hours 18 minutes from Calais (subject to traffic etc.) and it has an extensive range of activities.
It achieves the best review scores of the five featured in this guide - currently 3.8/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.3/5 on Google Reviews. That gives us a total of 81%. UK Center Parcs resorts score slightly higher than this, but it's in the same ballpark. Pros and Cons
Pros
Swimming Pool (Aqua Mundo)
The Aqua Mundo is one of the best-rated among nearby parks, with strong reviews for slides, layout and family-friendly features. It consistently receives positive feedback. The swimming pool ('Aqua Mundo') gets an admirable review score of 88%, making it amongst the highest rated Center Parcs pools in all of Europe.
Accommodation
Vossemeren originally opened in the 1980s but has undergone updates and refurbishments. Accommodation quality is generally considered good, though not ultra-modern. Go for one of the 'Renewed' or 'New Design' properties if it's affordable.
Besides the usual cottages, Vossemeren also has wheelchair accessible accommodation, some hotel rooms and some Animals of the Forest Cottages. If you're after a slick and shiny Center Parcs then your best bet is one of the newest parks, which include Center Parcs Terhills Resort in Belgium (opened in 2021) and Center Parcs Nordborg Resort in Denmark (opened in 2025). The downside with Terhills is that it's quite small, whilst Nordborg Resort is a long way from the UK by car. Facilities and Activities
The range of activities at Vossemeren is excellent, with 115 different things listed on the Center Parcs website including 32 free things to do. That's almost double the number of activities you'll find at Center Parcs Park de Haan.
Location
Vossemeren is in Belgium, just a few metres from the Dutch border. It is further inland than Park De Haan (so you don't get the beachside location) but it's still accessible in a day’s drive from the UK.
Is It Worth It?
Vossemeren is arguably the best overall option among the closest parks. If you are willing to drive a little longer for stronger reviews and facilities then I would put it top of your list.
Price
Prices are competitive and are somewhere around the middle compared to other Center Parcs in Europe. We found a week in August 2026 for £1920 for a family of four, which puts it roughly on a par with Center Parcs Lac d'Ailette. The cheapest price for a similar holiday at Center Parcs in the UK was £2398, although you would likely save on travel costs.
Final Verdict
Center Parcs Vossemeren offers one of the strongest combinations of review scores and facilities near the UK. Personally I think it's worth the extra hour or two in the car compared to Lac d’Ailette and Park de Haan.
4. Center Parcs De Kempervennen, Netherlands - 3 hours 21 minutes drive from Calais (75% review score)
Center Parcs De Kempervennen in the Netherlands is typically a drive of 3 hours 21 minutes from Calais, making it the the fourth closest European Center Parcs resort for UK visitors. The fact that it's closer than some Belgian and French parks confuses my understanding of European geography, but I'll get over.
Center Parcs De Kempervennen gets the third best reviews of the five Center Parcs we've featured in this guide - 3.7/5 on TripAdvisor or 4.1/5 on Google reviews or 78% overall. It also offers a good range of facilities and updated accommodation. However, there is hot competition with several highly rated parks that are a similar travel time (Erperheide, Vossemeren, Het Meerdal). Pros and Cons
Pros
Swimming Pool (Aqua Mundo)
The Aqua Mundo receives strong reviews of 84% and includes the typical Center Parcs wave pool, rapids and slides.
Accommodation
The park has benefited from renovation in recent years, improving the quality of cottages and facilities. There are are the usual cottages, as well as luxurious (and expensive) Wellness Cottages, jungle themed cottages and even some houseboats.
Facilities and Activities
De Kempervennen has 88 listed activities, and offers plenty to do, including indoor and outdoor sports. There aren't quite as many activities as you'll find at Vossemeren but there's not much in it - and it has the added bonus of an indoor ski slope.
Location
De Kempervennen is in the Netherlands, but it's close to the Belgian border. Antwerp and Brussels aren't too far away.
Is It Worth It?
It’s a solid choice, but if you are already driving 3 hours 21 minutes to get to Center Parcs De Kempervennen then I would be tempted to drive an extra 18 minutes to reach Center Parcs Het Meerdal. It gets better reviews (81% on average), it is usually cheaper and it has a few more activities. Het Meerdal also has better dog-friendly and baby-friendly accommodation.
Another great option that is only a few minutes further away is Center Parcs Erperheide in Belgium. We had a holiday at Erperheide in 2024 and enjoyed it greatly. Erperheide gets an average review score of 82%. Price
Week-long holidays in August 2026 for a family of four started at £2044 when we searched. That makes it the most expensive of the Center Parcs in this guide. See our full guide to the best Center Parcs in the Netherlands to see how it compares to other Dutch resorts on value.
Final Verdict
De Kempervennen is a strong Dutch option close to the UK, but it may not be the best-rated park in the region. Its biggest selling point is the indoor ski slope.
5. Center Parcs Villages Nature Paris, France - 3 hours 23 minutes from Calais (63% review score)
The fifth closest Center Parcs to the UK is Center Parcs Villages Nature Paris, which is a joint venture with Disneyland Paris. Expect it to take 3 hours 23 minutes from Calais (or thereabouts).
The idea is that you spend two or three days at Disneyland Paris, which is 10 minutes down the road. You spend the rest of your time at Center Parcs. The only snag with this idyllic hybrid holiday is that customer reviews have been disappointing ever since Centre Parcs Villages Nature Paris opened in 2017. It currently scores 2.7/5 on TripAdvisor and 3.6/5 on Google reviews, giving a total of 63%. Pros and Cons
Pros
Swimming Pool (Aqua Mundo)
The pool complex is large and popular and scores 84% from reviewers. There are seven waterslides, a wave pool and a lazy river.
Accommodation
The park opened in 2017, so the accommodation is modern. Most of the accommodation is apartments rather than cottages/lodges, which is unusual for Center Parcs. That won't appeal to everyone - we prefer to have detached accommodation when we go on holiday so that we don't have to worry about noise!
There are quite a lot of comments about cleanliness and maintenance in reviews. Lots of guests also mention the lack of air conditioning as a negative in summer. Facilities and Activities
The range of activities at Villages Nature Paris is smaller than all of the other Center Parcs villages in France. There's a similar number to Park de Haan, and plenty to fill the time that you aren't either in the pool or at Disneyland Paris!
Location
The location is probably the trump card for Les Villages Nature Paris. You can drive to Disneyland Paris in about 10 minutes. You can also get public transport into Paris city centre in about 45 minutes.
Is It Worth It?
If your main goal is visiting Disneyland Paris, it can make sense. Otherwise, higher-rated parks in Belgium or the Netherlands usually offer better overall value.
Price
Center Parcs Villages Nature Paris used to be one of the more expensive CenterParcs in Europe. However, in our comparison for 2026, we found that a week in August for four people starts at £1447, which is about £600 less than Center Parcs De Kempervennen.
Top tip - Book your accommodation through Center Parcs' French website and then book your own Disneyland Paris tickets. We found this was cheaper than getting a bundle of accommodation and tickets from Disneyland Paris. You don't get free parking at Disneyland Paris with this route, but it usually works out as a saving anyway. Read our full guide to Center Parcs Villages Nature Paris, which includes advice on saving money.
Villages Nature Paris is convenient for Disneyland visitors but if you're mostly after a Center Parcs experience then other resorts beat it by some distance.

Price comparison notes
*Our claim about Center Parcs Europe being half the price of Center Parcs UK for some dates is is based on price comparisons we did for holidays at Easter 2026. Prices started at £2348 for a family holiday at Center Parcs in the UK. Meanwhile, on the CenterParcs.fr site we found a week at Center Parcs Park NordseekĂ¼ste in Germany from £936. Of course, you need to add on travel costs (the Eurotunnel starts from about £300 return at Easter). We also suggest looking at our comparison of Center Parcs Europe.
Some resorts are on a par with UK resorts based on reviews, but other are lagging behind. Make sure you book through CenterParcs.fr. For some reason it is usually more expensive to book through CenterParcs.eu. Finally, we should point out that exchange rates mean that the price of Center Parcs in Europe vary throughout the year. We searched in December 2025 and didn't include tourist levies (these vary from place to place, so it's very complicated to include them!).
