UK Holiday Parks By Location - Counties, Cities and Coastal Resorts
There are literally hundreds of holiday parks in the UK and it's hard to know where to start. This guide is for you if you have a rough of which part of the country you want to visit and want to narrow it down.
We've bundled together all our UK holiday location guides into one place, grouped by region and nation. We've covered everywhere, from the Westcountry up to Scotland and from East Anglia to Wales.
Some guides cover a whole county whilst others tell you where you stay if you're visiting a big city or if you want to stay in a classic seaside resort.

Holiday parks in the Westcountry (South West England)
This is the section to start with if you're heading to Cornwall, Devon or Dorset. We've carefully chosen our favourite holiday parks in each county, plus added some guides for anyone planning a trip to Bristol. Some well known resorts also get their own pages, including Newquay and Weymouth. Each guide includes a mix of the big holiday park brands along with lesser known players and independent caravan sites.

Holiday parks in South East England
These are the guides you need if you want to explore southern England. In my opinion, the Isle of Wight is the jewel in the crown of the south east, which explains why it's a popular spot for Londoners. However, you can make a good case for the coastline of Kent, Essex, Hampshire and Sussex. The New Forest is worth a visit, particularly if you like cycling. We've also included a guide to holiday parks near London. There aren't any in the capital, but there are some good ones within about an hour's drive.

Holiday parks in the Midlands
The Midlands is often overlooked for holiday parks, but we've been to some great ones - and compiled our favourites here. The Peak District is the best of the region in my opinion and it's convenient if you're coming from Nottingham, Derby or Birmingham.

Holiday parks in East Anglia and East Coast England
This next section brings together our guides to England's east coast. There are some terrific holiday parks here, particularly around Norfolk and Great Yarmouth. We've visited most of the parks in the region and have pulled together our experiences for these guides.

Holiday parks in Northern England
Northern England's fantastic selection of holiday parks can be found in this section. We've included many of the big name parks from Haven, Parkdean, Away Resorts and Darwin Escapes - as well as some less famous gems. The Lake District offers perhaps the best scenery of them all, but fans of Yorkshire, Northumberland and Lancashire will all make a good argument for their county! This section also includes advice for residents of Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds and York who want a low hassle holiday.

Holiday parks in Scotland
Here are our guides to Scotland's best holiday parks, many of which have a different vibe to those in England. Most of them are based around lochs and mountains rather than the coastal resorts that you find in England. There are exceptions of course, but it's not surprise that Scotland makes the most of its gorgeous inland scenery.
Holiday parks in Wales
Next up, it's our Welsh holiday parks guides. We've got a roundup of our ten favourite, including some of the biggest holiday parks in the UK from Haven and Parkdean. There are also some smaller resorts in fantastic coastal locations. Haven has a big presence in Wales, so we've ranked all of their parks in the principality.
Interactive holiday parks maps for popular counties
Finally, we move onto our resources and useful guides section. Here you'll find interactive maps for some of the most popular holiday park locations in the UK. We've compiled visual guides to Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Yorkshire and plan to add more at a later date if they prove popular. Each map includes review scores, typical prices and a summary of facilities.
Frequently asked questions about UK holiday parks
FAQ: Which UK counties have the cheapest holiday parks?
We've studied this question for several years and have concluded that holiday parks in Scotland, some parts of Northern England and parts of Wales are usually much cheaper than caravan resorts in the Westcountry and South East. The cheaper parts of England tend to be East Lincolnshire (particularly Skegness), Lancashire and Northumberland.
There are exceptions, of course, but that's the general pattern we've seen.

FAQ: Which counties have the biggest and best choice of holiday parks?
Devon and Cornwall have the biggest choice of holiday parks competing for your attention. I would also give a shout out to Norfolk and the Isle of Wight. Norfolk has an unusually high quality selection of parks, including four of Haven's best parks and several Parkdean Resorts. The Isle of Wight has about a dozen holiday parks, which is impressive when you consider that it is the second smallest county in England.
FAQ: What's the best English county for a beach holiday?
That's a controversial question and every county will have its own argument that it has the best beaches! My personal experience and opinion is that the beaches in Cornwall and Devon are the best in England. Dorset also has some cracking beaches. However, if you want wide open beaches with skies that go on for miles then the East Coast of England is better - Norfolk, East Yorkshire and Northumberland stand out for me.
I'd also like to give a shout out to the Isle of Wight. It deserves its reputation as 'England in miniature'. It has a remarkable variety of beaches and scenery that is packed into a small Island (Full disclosure: I'm from the Isle of Wight!). When you visit Devon and Cornwall you tend to end up choosing from a handful of beaches within a short drive - on the Isle of Wight you can choose from 20!

FAQ: Which counties in the UK get the best weather for a beach holiday?
The general rule is that England's southern holiday parks get better weather than the northern ones and those in Scotland. You probably knew that already!
That means that you'll probably get the best weather in Cornwall, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Of course, this is England so there is no guarantee!

FAQ: Which part of the UK has the best scenery for a caravan holiday?
Another hugely controversial question! It's also quite subjective, depending on whether you like rolling hills, mountain views, wide open beaches or atmospheric rocky coves.
Personally, I rate the Lake District as offering the best scenery in England. Parts of Wales around Pembrokeshire and Snowdonia and the Highlands of Scotland are spectacular.
This is another opportunity for me to give a mention to my favourite place in the world - the Isle of Wight! It has a wonderful variety of scenery that you just don't get in most counties, but everything is on a smaller scale.

FAQ: When should I book a holiday park in the UK?
It's generally the case that the early bird catches the worm when it comes to holiday park deals. We've found that prices nearly always rise as they get closer to the date. The idea of 'last minute bargains' is appealing but it's quite rare to find a genuine last minute deal.
We have a couple of theories on this. The first theory is that early bookers get the biggest choice of accommodation grades. Leave it late and you'll end up paying for an upgrade that you don't want, such as an extra bedroom.
We've also noticed that some booking agents and holiday park companies do great deals if you book a summer holiday before Christmas. Big companies like to get bookings under their belt and often do some good deals around Black Friday.
Some holiday park companies will do a price guarantee, so you know you won't see the same holiday at a cheaper price nearer the time. The problem is that this usually requires you to do some leg work!
