Wold View Country Park can be found within the Lincolnshire Wolds, which are perhaps one of the lesser-known parts of rural England with designation as an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty).

​Here's what we thought of its accommodation, facilities, vibe and location when we visited in Spring 2026.

First impressions of Wold View Country Park

Our first impression on approaching Wold View Country Park was the rather lovely hills that can be seen from the site. This, of course, is not what Lincolnshire is famous for and after much driving through flat landscapes they do provide something of a visual treat. 

The approach to the park is a long and well-maintained path and the sun was shining when we arrived, which certainly added to the enjoyment

Accommodation at Wold View Country Park 

There's a mix of accommodation at Wold View Country Park. When we visited, a good number of people had brought their own touring caravans and had set up near to one of the lakes. As you'll have gathered, this holiday leisure park is very much one for anglers rather than for families with noisy children who need constant entertainment.

A little further along past the main reception area we came across the lodges, which are our main interest when we're looking at holidays in the UK. These are presented in a very pleasant crescent shape so they all have a good view over one of the lakes. Personally, I think having a view from a lodge is absolutely essential. My first choice is always a sea view but a lake view is a good runners-up prize. 

The location of Wold View Country Park, of course, is not right by the beach but you could get to the East Lincolnshire coastline in about half an hour, which makes it suitable for a day trip, in my view. ​

Facilities at Wold View Country Park

As with many leisure parks it is important that you don't come rushing here expecting to be provided with the big range of activities and facilities on site. That's certainly the case at Wold View, which doesn't have anything like a swimming pool or climbing wall or a high ropes that you might find at big Haven holiday parks. 

I would hope you were aware of that before booking but I think it's worth saying nonetheless! 

The main activity, of course, is fishing and we saw plenty of people making the most of the fishing facilities at the park. 

There is also a reception and a café, so it's not entirely without facilities

Vibe and atmosphere at Wold View Country Park

The combination of several lakes along with a good selection of trees and plenty of well-kept green space means that Wold View Country Park is an incredibly relaxing place. 

It has a very different vibe from big family holiday parks, which combine excitement with often quite crammed in accommodation. Here, the accommodation didn't feel squashed in and the whole area felt very green and far enough from the road to offer some peace and quiet.

Final thoughts on Wold View Country Park

Wold View Country Park certainly won't be for everyone. It's not going to compete with big name holiday parks that offer lots of facilities and entertainment - but then again I'm not sure that it wants to. 

Instead, this park will mostly appeal to couples and families with children who don't mind not being provided with endless entertainment.

It's a relatively quiet part of the country and you'll need to be getting in the car to go and find entertainment. Of course, it being a quiet area is part of the appeal for a lot of people. It doesn't have the slightly tacky vibe and feel that you get at the East Lincolnshire coast in places such as Skegness, Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes. Instead, the Lincolnshire Wolds give a very attractive setting and make this a relaxing and appealing place to stay.
