We were blessed with some lovely sunshine when we visited Watermill Leisure Park in Spring 2026.

You'll find it near to the small town of Caistor and right on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

​My experience with the Lincolnshire Wolds is that they are very pleasant and have some nice rolling hills but don't really compare in grandeur to places such as the Lake District or the Peak District. Apologies to those who disagree with my faint praise.

The first thing we noticed at Watermill Leisure Park was the field of alpacas that you'll spot on your way in to the park.

This is a nice touch and adds a bit if character to the site.

Facilities at Watermill Leisure Park 

We've been visiting a few smaller holiday parks and leisure parks around this part of Lincolnshire recently. As with others we've been to, it does not have a great mountain of attractions and facilities on site (you want Haven Cleethorpes if that's your desire). The vibe is very much about peace and quiet rather than entertainment. However, Watermill Leisure Park does have a small bar, which is part of the reception. 

We always pay close attention when we visit a leisure park or a holiday park at how well maintained it is. In the case of Watermill Leisure Park, we found that it was very proudly kept with plenty of smooth tarmac, neatly cut grass and a good range of trees around the site. It has a lovely relaxing feel to it, which of course is exactly what you want when you're on holiday. 

In case you haven't picked this up so far, it is worth mentioning that this is not the holiday park for you if you're looking for things to do on site. You won't find a swimming pool with flumes here or an evening entertainer to teach the children how to juggle. You also won't find sports courts or playgrounds.

Accommodation at Watermill Leisure Park 

We were particularly interested in the lodges at Watermill Leisure Park, which you can book through Hoseasons. These are in a really lovely spot overlooking the lake, which has its own fountain.

The design of the lodges is beautifully modern and it's just the sort of accommodation that we look for when we're looking for somewhere to stay in the UK. The design is quite familiar to those of us that have stayed one of the many Darwin Escapes holiday parks around the UK.

Vibe and atmosphere at Watermill Leisure Park

These sort of leisure parks and holiday parks do a terrific job of making me feel relaxed. When we go somewhere such as Butlins we always have a great time but I'm not sure that relaxation is the first thing on my mind. Watermill Leisure Park has a lovely mix of a large lake and plenty of green space that gives it a friendly and relaxing vibe.

Final thoughts on Watermill Leisure Park

It's absolutely essential in my view to do some digging around and researching before you book anywhere to stay. If you were to turn up at Watermill Leisure Park looking for the sort of entertainment you might find with Haven or Parkdean or even Butlins then you would certainly be disappointed. Honestly, you'd only have yourself to blame.

However, if you want somewhere where you can relax, listen to the birds, pop out for some walks and take a little trip into the small town of Caistor then you won't be disappointed with Watermill Leisure Park.
