Nodes Point Holiday Park is one of four Parkdean Resorts on the Isle of Wight. We think it makes a good case as being the best of the four, but it does rather depend on what you look for from a holiday park. First impressions of Nodes Point Holiday Park Nodes Point Holiday Park sits at the end of a long driveway, off a fairly quiet road. This gives it a nice peaceful location and you certainly won't suffer from too much road noise during your holiday. One of the first things you'll pick up on is the terrific view that can be enjoyed from the top of the site. The layout is such that the caravans towards the top of the site get a better view than those at the very bottom. However, those at the bottom are some of the nicest lodges and they're also the nearest to the beach. Accommodation at Nodes Point Holiday ParkNodes Point is quite a good size holiday park. I would say it is mid-sized by Parkdean's standards of scale, but it has quite a sprawling feel to it. It isn't one of their dozen-or-so 'Action Packed Parks'. Towards the top of the site are quite a few smaller caravans. These are your typical 12-ft wide caravans and will tend to be the cheaper options. There are also some traditional style chalets here as well. These don't appeal to me as much, but they can be a low cost option. As you make your way down the hill, you'll find some larger caravans with balconies. Some of them are wide enough to be considered a lodge. The ones that are halfway down the hill are particularly appealing as they get a good view. Besides the caravans and lodges, there is also a large amount of space for campers and tourers as well as a glamping village, known as the Safari Village. The glamping village has neatly arranged safari tents that look towards the sea. We've not stayed in one of these yet, but I can imagine that if the weather is right, they would be great fun. A cheaper option is the camping and touring site. As we have got to know Nodes Point Holiday Park, we've figured out that you basically have two options. The majority of tourers go for the narrow flat sections that you pass as you drive around the site. You don't get much of a view from most of these, but they are quite well located for getting to the entertainment. Towards the very bottom of the site is a section that is mostly used by campers. This is right by the beach, which is obviously very appealing. When we've been to Nodes Point Holiday Park in the past, I have enjoyed going for early morning walks down to the beach at St. Helens. Entertainment and facilities at Nodes Point Holiday ParkAs we wandered around the site and got our bearings again, we came across the swimming pool. This is an indoor pool that is a pretty good size and has a four-lane slide. There's also a large restaurant, which has terrific views towards the sea. This also serves as the entertainment venue at Nodes Point Holiday Park. The playground is hidden away a little bit. It isn't huge but our children enjoyed playing on it. Location of Nodes Point Holiday ParkNodes Point spills out onto St Helen's Beach. This is one of several lovely beaches on the Isle of Wight. At low tide it offers sand and shallow paddling for a long way. At high tide you get a mixture of sand and fine shingle, depending on the time of year. St. Helens is a long beach and it links up with other beaches including Priory Bay and the Duver in St. Helens. Atmosphere and vibe at Nodes Point Holiday ParkNodes Point is a busy holiday park with plenty going on. It doesn't have the high ropes and climbing walls that you get at some Parkdean Resorts. However, it is certainly a popular one with families and it has a busy holiday vibe. Some holiday parks tend to be empty during the day as everyone is out and about. We've generally found that there are always a few people around in the day at Nodes Point, making the most of the swimming pool. It's also got an arcade, which is attached to the restaurant. Final thoughts on Nodes Point Holiday ParkWe are big fans of Parkdean Resorts' Nodes Point Holiday Park. The sea view and access to the beach is its best point and puts it ahead of Landguard and Lower Hyde, in my opinion. Those are two other popular Parkdean Resorts on the Isle of Wight and they have a lot going for them. However, they are not as close to the beach so it isn't quite as easy to pop down for a few minutes of fun and games in the evening. When we've stayed at Nodes Point we've had a really nice lodge. I would say that there is a big range of accommodation so think carefully about what you are looking for. Some of the chalets are a lot smaller and more basic. Overall though, we continue to be impressed with Nodes Point and would strongly recommend it. Parkdean Resorts will also get you a discount on the ferry, which makes it a better value holiday.
