It took me quite a while to get my bearings when we visited Parkdean Resorts Breydon Water Holiday Park. As you approach the site, you'll figure out probably quicker than me that it is actually two sites called Yare Village and Bure Village. More accurately, it is one site with two halves that are split by a public road. You might like to think of it is as two campuses. The "Breydon Water" section of the sign was actually quite small so I did wonder if I'd gone wrong. Regardless of which half you stay at, you can use the facilities at both. Between the two, there's a reasonable amount of things to do. Entertainment and swimming at Breydon WaterOne half of Breydon Water has an entertainment centre, along with an outdoor swimming pool and slide, a sports court and a small playground. When we visited, it was grey and towards the end of the summer holidays and there were loads of people out enjoying the outdoor pool, playing football and racing around the site on the pedal go-karts that you can hire. What I do like about Breydon Water Holiday Park is that you get indoor and outdoor swimming pools. The amusements area was small but is ideal for filling a bit of time with children (my children love these machines - and so do I admittedly). When I walked around the site, I generally felt that the caravans were not too close together. They weren't arranged into cul-de-sacs that you get at some holiday parks but they also weren't crammed together. The local area is a fairly normal but pretty part of Norfolk. It seemed to me that Breydon Water would serve very nicely as a base if you wanted to explore Great Yarmouth or other parts of the Norfolk coast. The park looked to be very well looked after. There are a few shrubs and hedges around but I wouldn't say it's quite as leafy as some of the other Parkdean holiday parks I have stayed at and looked around. There's also a good-sized camping area at Breydon Water Holiday Park that was rammed full when I visited. Clearly, this is a popular spot for camping and I've often found that the prices for a pitch at these sort of holiday parks is pretty reasonable. My final thoughts on my visit to Parkdean Resorts Breydon Water Holiday ParkIf I'm completely honest, Breydon Water Holiday Park doesn't tick all the boxes for me. However, it may well be exactly what you're looking for - so don't be put off too much by a lone opinion. I think the main downside from my point of view is that it isn't really very near to the sea. Of course, you probably knew this already. If you are the sort of family that is happy to jump into the car to go to the beach then it won't be a big deal for you. As I've said before on this site, I really like to be able to walk to the beach, which is something you can do at nearby Parkdean resorts called California Cliffs and Summerfields Holiday Park. As we left Breydon Water Holiday Park, I concluded that it would do the job nicely if you wanted an indoor and an outdoor pool and a good value place to stay. It doesn't have the big range of activities that you get at Parkdean Resorts Action-Packed parks or at Haven's bigger holiday parks, but that may not be what you want. After all, you have to pay extra to use those activities and you may feel you have spent enough money booking the holiday. You may also prefer to spend your money off-site where you can look for cheap days out or experience a bit more of the local area. I wouldn't describe Breydon Water Holiday Park as swanky or particularly flashy, but it has a good vibe and I have no doubt that it has lots of happy customers.
