Parkdean Resorts categorise Naze Marine Holiday Park as one of its Action Packed Parks. That means it has more things to do then your average holiday resort. This was one of the reasons that we really wanted to pay to visit, which we finally got round to this autumn. First impressions of Naze MarineIt became obvious to us upon arriving that Parkdean Resorts has invested a lot of money at Naze Marine. The central 'Hub' area has got a lot of new things in it and the signs are all looking very modern and on brand. Little touches like this make a holiday park look a lot smarter and more appealing, in my opinion. Activities and things to do that we found at Naze MarineAs we explored Naze Marine, we ticked off the various activities that were available including the indoor swimming pool, the bungee trampolines, pedal karts for hire, pirate-themed mini golf (very similar to the one we saw at Parkdean Resorts Southview in Skegness) and a decent midsize playground. There is also a modern sports court, where you can kick a ball around. Inside, there's a small amusement arcade as well as the Boathouse, which is a large restaurant and the Showbar, where the entertainment is held. It's also worth mentioning that just outside the park is a large public playground that is one of the best we've seen for a while. We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which has a nice cover over the top of it. Again, we saw something similar when we visited Southview in Skegness recently. Clearly, it has a lot of the same design that Parkdean is putting into several of its Action-Packed Resorts. Location of Naze Marine Holiday ParkAs we wandered the site and got to know it better, we spotted a sign saying 'To The Beach'. We followed this route and found that we very quickly came to the sandy beach of Walton-on-the-Naze. You have to cross a road to get to it, but it's only about five minutes from the reception area. We visited outside of peak season so the sea didn't look particularly appealing for a swim, but I imagine it looks better in the summer! Accommodation at Naze Marine Holiday ParkAs with most Parkdean Resorts, the vast majority of accommodation at Naze Marine is caravans. We did stumble across one part of the park with some very classy lodges - I'd get one of these if you can afford the upgrade! Generally, the caravans are fairly close together and in very neat rows. However, there is some green space in between the caravans and plenty of other places where you could kick a ball around. Around one side of the park is a marshy area. We did wonder if some of the caravans might have a view of this area but it is over the top of a steep bank. As far as I could tell there aren't any caravans with a stunning view but you aren't far away from the beach. Final impressions of Naze MarineWe left with a very positive impression of Naze Marine Holiday Park. We thought that it shares quite a lot in common with Parkdean's Cayton Holiday Park, which is in Yorkshire and is another that we have visited. The hub layout and facilities also reminded us a lot of Southview in Skegness, as mentioned earlier.
Personally, I quite a holiday park on a bit of a gradient as I think it gives it more character and interesting views (Nodes Point on the Isle of Wight is one of my favourite Parkdean Resorts for this reason). Of course, it would be ideal if it led straight onto the beach rather than requiring you to cross a road (this is another thing I like about Nodes Point). However, I'm being quite picky now at what is a modern and well equipped holiday resort.
