How much will it cost to bring your dog to a caravan holiday park in the UK?

Haven has Bark Yards at some holiday parks - but how much will you pay for your dog?

Every holiday park company in the UK has a slightly different policy on how much they charge for dogs. Some have a fixed price regardless of how long you stay whilst others charge different amounts depending on how many dogs you have. Haven don't charge anything - but their 'dog friendly' accommodation is more expensive, so you are still paying more than you would if you didn't bring a dog.

Butlins	No dogs allowed, except 'accredited guide dogs and emotional support animals'	The only exception is if you own a caravan at Butlins, but you aren't supposed to allow holiday guests staying in your caravan to bring a dog.
Parkdean Resorts	£49 per pet per week or part week. Maximum of two dogs. 'From £4' per pet per night for camping and touring.	All parks allow dogs, but some have Woof Parks, which are dog agility courses (similar to Bark Yards at Haven)
Center Parcs UK	£89 for one dog, £109 for two dogs. Two dog maximum. Short breaks and longer breaks cost the same.	Dog friendly properties are available in two of the accommodation grades.
Center Parcs Europe	€28 (£25ish) per dog for short breaks, €49 (£40ish) per dog for seven days. Maximum of two dogs.	Dog friendly accommodation available at all 28 of the Center Parcs in Europe. Read our guide to Center Parcs UK v Europe. Read the official gov't pets abroad advice.
John Fowler Holidays	£30 per pet per week for short breaks, £50 per pet per week for full weeks. Max of two dogs. £3 per night for camping and touring. Shorefield	£9 per pet per night. Maximum of three dogs.	"Both Shorefield Country Park and Oakdene Forest Park both welcome dogs into designated areas of the main complexes."

So, which is the cheapest holiday park for a holiday with a dog?

• If you've got one dog and are staying in a holiday park for a week then the cheapest options are around £50, including John Fowler Holidays (£50), Parkdean Resorts (£49) and Park Holidays UK (£50). Center Parcs Europe is the cheapest at about £40 - £45 (depending on the exchange rate), but you'll no doubt have other costs associated with taking a dog abroad! Center Parcs UK is more expensive at £89.
  
  
• Shorefield is the only holiday park chain we've found so far that allows you to take three dogs. However, they charge £9 per dog, per night so taking three dogs on holiday for a week would cost you £189.
  
  
• If you've got two dogs and are staying for a week then most UK holiday parks charge somewhere around £100. That includes Center Parcs (£109), John Fowler Holidays (£100), Parkdean Resorts (£98), Haven (about £100, but it varies a bit), Park Holidays UK (£100). Away Resorts is a bit more expensive at £120, as is Shorefield at £126.
