Previously, Haven just did Christmas breaks at four resorts but they’ve increased the number. I would say that the parks with the best swimming pools are Craig Tara in Scotland, Craig Tara in Scotland and Seashore in Norfolk. I’m mentioning this because as indoor swimming pools are a big part of the appeal of a winter holiday! Cala Gran in Lancashire and Hafan y Môr in Wales are both convenient from Manchester and Liverpool. Haven Kent Coast Holiday Park is a good one from London, as it’s only about an hour away. Primrose Valley is about 90 minutes from Leeds. Which of Haven's Christmas parks gets the best reviews?You will probably just head for the Haven resort that is closest to you for Christmas. After all, driving in winter is not great fun and you'll be spending quite a bit of time indoors anyway. However, we thought it was worth ranking the Haven Christmas resorts, based on their average review scores on TripAdvisor and Google Reviews.
So, there's a great big clump of about half the resorts that get very similar scores. Primrose, Valley, Rockley Park, Kent Coast and Craig Tara are a whisker behind. The differences may not be as major as they look, because TripAdvisor only gives scores in half points. Some of those parks may be on the cusp of gaining an extra 5%. What do you get at a Haven Christmas holiday? Haven's parks are decorated for Christmas - and the swimming pools are open You get quite a bit included in the price of a Haven holiday at Christmas. Make sure you pick the Haven holiday option when you book, rather than Haven Hideaway. The hideaway option doesn’t include any entertainment or the swimming pool, so it would only really be a good option if you were visiting relatives nearby and just wanted somewhere to sleep. I would recommend putting this date into the diary, particularly if you are staying on Christmas day. It is obviously a peak time and they are keen to point out that ‘We can't guarantee availability for Christmas Day reservations when you make your holiday booking.’ Keep in mind that cooking a huge turkey in your own caravan is not going to be easy. You could leave the site and find somewhere else to eat, but that’ll take some planning on Christmas day. There are plenty of websites that will calculate 12 weeks for you, so I would get in early. How much does a Christmas break at Haven cost?It varies! It’s also a bit more complicated than usual Haven pricing, as you can stay for a bigger range of days. For example, there are five and six night breaks available as well as the usual three, four and seven night breaks. This has been done to avoid changeover days on Christmas Day. Based on our limited comparisons, Haven Hafan y Môr is the cheapest Haven resort for a Christmas holiday. There's a range of about £100 between the cheapest and most expensive resort at Christmas. Once you've taken fuel costs into account, I would say you are best to start with looking at your closest resorts.
