Coastfields Holiday Village in Lincolnshire is not part of one of the big chains like Haven or Parkdean Resorts. Instead, it is one of a huge number of independent holiday parks that you can find around Skegness, Ingoldmells and other parts of the Lincolnshire east coast. Here's what we thought of it, along with our photos. A gorgeous and convenient locationWhen we visited Coastfields, we were blessed with beautiful sunny weather, which really showed off the trump card of this holiday park - its location. Simply cross over the road at the entrance of the park and walk up a short slope, and you are straight on to a long sandy stretch of Ingoldmells Beach. There is a long and very nicely maintained path along the seafront, which links up a lot of the local attractions and amusements. We greatly enjoyed wandering along the coastal path. Besides the beach location (which is my number one priority when I'm considering a holiday park), Coastfields is also very close to Ingoldmell's Fantasy Island, which dominates the skyline with its tall rollercoasters. With my weak stomach, this is not a big appeal but it is obviously a popular spot and you can easily walk there from Coastfields. Facilities at Coastfields Holiday VillageThe resort itself is mid-sized by holiday park standard and it offers facilities including an indoor swimming pool, a pretty good-sized amusement arcade, as well as a Chinese takeaway and a Spar corner shop. Accommodation at CoastfieldsCaravans in this part of Lincolnshire tend to make the most of the prime space, and are usually quite close together. However, you will find some patches of grass where you can kick a ball around. Coastfields does have a playground, which is more modern than many I have seen at holiday parks in this part of the country. Fun on the doorstepJust next to Coastfields is a large amusement arcade called Rock City. There is also a big set of inflatables and bouncy castles just along the road. Final thoughts on Coastfields Holiday VillageMy main reservation of the independent holiday parks around Skegness and East Lincolnshire is that they have a very little greenery trees and landscaping.
Personally, I prefer holiday parks with more green space and a country park vibe rather than the bright colours of most of the holiday parks around this part of Lincolnshire. However, if you want a nostalgic seaside holiday in the Skegness area and want to be very close to a fantastic beach then I would certainly have a good look at Coastfields.
