Here's our review of Caistor Lakes in Lincolnshire, which includes a number of lodges including several with good fishing. We visited in Spring 2026 and considered factors such as location, facilities and accommodation.

First impressions and location of Caistor Lakes 

Caistor is very small town within Lincolnshire. It's not a coastal place so this isn't one for you if your idea of a good holiday park is one where you can get to the beach, get sand between your toes and buy an ice cream outside an amusement arcade. Having said that it's not a huge drive if you want to day out in Skegness or Cleethorpes. 

Caistor Lakes Holiday Park is just a few minutes outside of Caistor and we found it to be exquisitely well maintained. There is clearly a lot of pride in this holiday park, which is privately owned rather than being part of a big chain. The term 'holiday park' may be pushing it a little, but it's a nice collection of accommodation with a good sized and modern reception building, which has a large fish pond at the front. 

This fish pond is a good indicator that the vast majority of people visiting Caistor Lakes holiday park will be there to do some angling.

Facilities at Caistor Lakes

As I said, Caistor Lakes holiday park is very much about fishing whilst sat in one of your modern lodges. It doesn't have the sort of holiday park features that you would get with Haven or Parkdean Resort. There is no swimming pool or mini golf or climbing wall that you'll be signing up for. 

Instead, you can expect to spend most of your time sat on your balcony whilst fishing from one of several lakes at the site. 

Of course, it gives it a rather niche appeal but for some people it will be exactly what they're looking for. ​

Accommodation at Caistor Lakes

The accommodation at Caistor Lakes is very modern and quite similar to the sort of lodges that you would get if you stayed at Darwin Escapes. For those that don't know, Darwin Escapes is a big brand that has about 20 large holiday parks across the UK. 

It's worth pointing out that Caistor Lakes is not a large holiday park by any means. 

Besides the lodges, there is a modestly-sized area for touring caravans and motorhomes. Much like the rest of the park, this is very well presented and looked after. It is certainly a step up from some of the slightly tatty holiday parks we've visited over the years. ​

Vibe and atmosphere at Caistor Lakes

You'll have picked up by now that the vibe and atmosphere at this resort is very much one of peace and relaxation whilst you do some fishing. It is not the place to come for non-stop entertainment or anything along those lines. ​

Final thoughts on Caistor Lakes 

We very much like the vibe and modern setting offered by Caistor Lakes. It isn't somewhere that we would normally stay as none of us are anglers but that's not to say it wouldn't be ideal for you. 

The whole site is modern and well looked after and for an angling break in this part of Lincolnshire, I think it deserves a solid recommendation.
