10 Cheap Holiday Parks in Europe 2025
A cheap holiday park in France or the Netherlands is one of the lowest cost and least stressful ways to introduce your children to foreign holidays. Many of them can be reached by car from the UK and they give you more space and cooking options than you get with a hotel.
We’ve dug out 10 of Europe’s cheapest holiday parks from big names you’ll have heard of such as Eurocamp and Center Parcs. We’ve also picked out low priced holiday parks from brands like Europarcs, which are a big deal in Europe but less well known here.
Most of our bargain breaks are in France and the Netherlands (including Holland), but our selection also features budget holiday parks in Austria, Croatia, Spain and Italy.
We’ve generally picked out holiday parks that score at least 80% from reviewers to avoid Le Disaster on holiday.
If you’re bringing your car then you can pick between the Eurotunnel/Le Shuttle from Folkestone or ferries from Portsmouth, Dover, Plymouth and other ports. Personally, I like the Eurotunnel as it only takes 35 minutes and is much less wobbly than a ferry.
Here’s our top 10, along with the price we were quoted for a week’s holiday in early August 2025 for a family of four. We haven’t included travel costs in our price.

1. Marvilla Parks Friese Meren, Netherlands (very cheap, indoor swimming pool)
Winner: cheapest resort in our top 10!
Eurocamp offers holidays at more than 400 holiday parks around Europe. About 60 of them are ‘Marvilla’ holidays, which means that Eurocamp owns the resort and has complete control over the facilities.
The rest are holiday parks where Eurocamp works with third parties by providing some of the accommodation. You still get the Eurocamp reputation and customer service, but they have less control over the facilities.
Marvilla Parks Friese Meren is one of Eurocamp’s cheapest and best value parks within the Marvilla brand. It previously went by the bizarre name of ‘T Hop, which sounds like a 1990s' rapper.
Friese Meren is a fairly small holiday park but it’s got an indoor swimming pool and an onsite restaurant. The swimming pool is just an ordinary rectangle of water. It doesn’t have multicoloured flumes and penguins spurting out water.
You can reach it in about 4 ½ hours from Calais or get a six hour ferry to the Hook of Holland from Harwich in Essex and then drive for two hours. Customer reviews average 83%, which we calculated by adding up TripAdvisor and Google Review scores.
Price: £585 for a Eurocamp Classic XL Holiday Home for a week in early August 2025 for a family of four. Classic is Eurocamp’s cheapest grade, but XL means you get a little more space than some caravans.

2. EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands (indoor and outdoor pools, 5 minutes from Efteling theme park)
EuroParcs hasn’t quite broken through as a household name in the UK – but they’re a famous brand in the Netherlands.
Their resorts are mostly in the Netherlands, with a smaller number of Belgium, Germany and Austria.
EuroParcs Kaatsheuvel is one of their cheaper resorts and it’s in a terrific location. The main selling point is that it is five minutes from Efteling, which is one of Europe’s biggest and best theme parks. In fact, it's the third most visited theme park in the whole of Europe, just behind Disneyland Paris and Europa Park.
The resort itself has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, as well as minigolf. There's also a restaurant, soft play and gnome-themed treasure hunt. If that doesn't persuade you to visit I don't know what will.
Price: £860 for a week’s holiday in early August 2025. That price is for four people and is the cheapest accommodation available at the time of searching. For that price, you get a small cottage with two bedrooms. Some of the accommodation will cost you twice that price, but you get much more space.

3. Le Vieux Moulin, France - small resort near the beach
Le Vieux Moulin is a relatively small holiday park – but it’s got the basics that we look for in a cheap European holiday resort.
There are indoor and outdoor swimming pools, along with an onsite restaurant. Sports and activities are a little limited, but options include badminton, table tennis or boules (obligatory at every French holiday park).
France’s west coast is about 10 minutes away in the car, so you’ll likely spend a lot of time at the beach.
The resort is a stress-inducing nine hour drive from Calais. The ferry port at St Malo is a bit more reasonable at five hours. You can get a ferry to St Malo from Portsmouth in about nine hours. In other words, you can either have a longer drive and a shorter crossing or a shorter drive and a longer ferry.
The alternative is a 1 hour 40 minute flight from the UK to Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport and then a 1 hour 10 minute drive.
Customer reviews average 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor, which is exceptionally good considering the price.
Price: £719 for a week in a Comfort XL Holiday Home for a week in August 2025. That price is for four people.

4. Center Parcs Parc Sandur, Netherlands - big brand name at lower price
You probably wouldn't associate Center Parcs with cheap holidays. They certainly aren't cheap in the UK, with peak time prices requiring you to surrender your wallet and pray for mercy.
It's slightly different in Europe, where Center Parcs is run by a separate company. Offers are common and prices fluctuate much more enthusiastically.
Center Parcs Parc Sandur certainly isn't as cheap as some holiday parks in this guide. However, it's one of the cheapest Center Parcs resorts in Europe. It often ranks well in our price comparisons of Center Parcs in France, Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Denmark.
It’s a drive of about five hours from Calais, which is just about bearable with children, in my experience.
Les Bois-Francs tends to be the cheapest Center Parcs in France - and is often less than half the price of an equivalent Center Parcs holiday in the UK.

Half price Center Parcs? What's the catch?
There's a caveat to all this.
It’s such a large caveat that it should be written out on a neon sign or spelled out by the Red Arrows at an airshow.
Neither Center Parcs Les Bois Francs nor Parc Sandur get particularly stunning review scores. Parc Sandur scores around 75% whilst Les Bois Francs is languishing at 64%. The swimming pool - or 'aqua mundo' - at Center Parcs Parc Sandur is notably smaller and less exciting than the outstanding Subtropical Paradise pools at Center Parcs in the UK.
My recommendation is to also check prices at Center Parcs Vossemeren and Center Parcs Erperheide in Belgium, as well as Center Parcs Het Meerdal. These parks all score 80% or higher and will give something much closer to a Center Parcs UK experience.
Yes, they are usually more expensive than Parc Sandur or Les Bois Francs but the difference is often less than £100, particularly if you visit off peak.
One of our favourite tricks is to book Center Parcs Europe via CenterParcs.fr rather than via CenterParcs.eu. The holiday is identical, but for some reason the prices are usually cheaper. It can save you a good wedge – in some cases more than £100.
Price: £1208 for a week at Parc Sandur in August 2025 for a family of four. You’ll probably be aware that you pay extra for a lot of activities at Center Parcs. The good news is that activities at Center Parcs Europe are considerably cheaper than those in the UK. We visited Center Parcs Erperheide and found that many activities were half price or less than the closest equivalent at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest.

5. Eurocamp Park Umag, Croatia - huge resort with waterslides and beach nearby
Eurocamp Park Umag performed well in our comparison of Croatia’s best Eurocamp resorts. It isn’t the absolute cheapest resort in the country, but it’s not far off and it offers a lot.
f you’re looking for lower priced Croatian holiday park, I would look at Valkanela or Brioni Sunny Camping with the caveat that they lag behind Park Umag on reviews and facilities. I should also mention at this point that the word 'camping' doesn't mean you will be staying in a tent. There are plenty of proper holiday homes with walls that won't fall over.
Eurocamp Park Umag is certainly the one to go for if you like holiday parks on a large scale. It’s one of the largest resorts we’ve seen in Europe, based on the number of accommodation units (about 3000!).
You can pick from three main swimming pools, along with splash parks and waterslides.
Of course, getting to Croatia is somewhat more effort than a holiday park in France.
Driving is possible, but it would take about 15 hours and a couple of years of therapy to get over it, if you've got children. You would be much better to fly to Pula airport in about 2 hours 30 minutes and then drive for the final hour to the resorts.
Price: £1282 for a week in August 2025 for four people sharing the cheapest accommodation we could find. There's a good choice of upgrades at Park Umag compared to some of the smaller resorts. See our guide to Eurocamp's grading system for more idea of what you get for paying extra.

6. Moulin De Kermaux, France – small resort with swimming pool
Moulin De Kermaux is a small and affordable Eurocamp holiday park in Brittany.
There’s a decent outdoor swimming pool along with a three lane slide.
The holiday park has a restaurant where you can get simple food or you can travel to Carnac, which is a couple of miles away. It’s famous in France for its mini-Stonehenge style stones.
Besides the pool, there’s a kids club and sports including basketball and football. There are a couple of beaches within 10-15 minutes.
I would say that you want to bring a car to Moulin De Kermaux. The simplest option for most people will be a ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo, followed by a drive of about two hours. The ferry takes about 10 hours, so lots of people get an overnight crossing.
Review scores average 83%. We calculated an average based on reviews on TripAdvisor and Google Reviews.
Price: £736 for a Comfort Holiday Park for a week in August 2025. You can upgrade to more spacious models but Moulin De Kermaux doesn’t have the really posh grades of Eurocamp holiday home.

7. Hu I Pini Village, Italy - swimming pools, one hour from Rome
Hu I Pini Village is one of the cheapest holiday parks we’ve found in Italy. Review scores are a solid 81%, with scores of 4.1/5 on Google Reviews and 4/5 on TripAdvisor.
For your money you get a couple of outdoor swimming pools, access to an onsite restaurant and activities including minigolf and football.
It’s a Eurocamp resort and is particularly good if you want a couple of days visiting Rome, but don’t fancy staying within the city. You can drive to Rome in about an hour. Public transport is also an option but it will take you about twice as long.
Hu I Pini Village is relatively small with about 300 accommodation units, most of which are the more basic ‘Classic’ styles of holiday home. However, they did have some upgrade options for less than £100 extra when we checked.
Flying is your best bet for a holiday at Hu I Pini Village. The flight takes about 2 ½ hours and then it’s a one hour drive. If you did want to drive then you’d have to endure 17 hours on the road – and that’s once you reach Calais.
Price: £758 for a week’s holiday for four people in August 2025. That is the self catering price and doesn’t include flights or transfers.

8. Orangeraie Holiday Resort, Spain - swimming pools, warm weather, 20 minutes from the coast
Our pick for a cheap holiday park in Spain is Orangeraie. You'll probably have already guessed that it gets its name from the orange trees that grow locally.
It's a modestly sized holiday park but there are a couple of swimming pools, which make the most of the weather. It regularly hits 30 Celsius during June, July and August. May and September are a little cooler but still plenty warm enough for me.
There's a 'snack bar' at the resort if you want simple food. For more choice or for beaches, you can drive 20 minutes into the coastal city of Benicarlo.
Back at the holiday park, there's a playground and a few sports including basketball, tennis and football.
It'll take you about 1 hour 20 minutes to reach Orangeraie from the nearest airport (Reus). You can fly direct from the UK in about 2 hours 15 minutes.
Price: £971 for a week in a 'Comfort' Holiday Home in August 2025 for four people. Upgrades will get you extra bedrooms, larger decking and other bells and whistles. Thankfully, all the accommodation comes with air conditioning.

9. Marvilla Château de Fonrives, France (outstanding waterpark, kids clubs)
Marvilla Château de Fonrives is the one to go for if you want a large waterpark in France at a reasonable price. The main downside is that it lags behind slightly on reviews - it scores 76% overall whilst most others in this guide are 80%+.
It's another park owned under the Marvilla brand, which is a sub-brand of Eurocamp.
The waterpark has three large flumes as well as two outdoor swimming pools. There are also kids' clubs for various ages, and sporty things like tennis, yoga and a gym. The local area is the sort of place where you can go on vineyard tours and pretend you know what you are talking about. As a child, I was dragged round a never-ending vineyard tour, which was entirely in French.
This isn't a beach holiday - you're about three hours drive from France's west coast. Patient parents can drive to the resort from Calais in nine hours. Alternatively, fly for about 1 hour 40 minutes from the UK to Bergerac-Dordogne-Périgord Airport and then drive for 25 minutes.
The climate around this part of France is a little warmer than the UK - but not baking hot. Summer temperatures peak around the high 20s, whilst May and September reach temperatures around the low 20s.
Price: £784 for a week's holiday in the cheapest holiday home available for a family of four in early August 2025.

10. Camping Bella Austria (beautiful Alpine scenery, swimming pool)
Holidays in the Alps don't tend to be cheap - but Camping Bella Austria bucks the trends.
Don't run a mile at the word 'camping'. As I say frequently on this website, the term 'camping' is used across Europe to refer to any holiday park. The cheap accommodation we've found is in a holiday home with walls, showers and real beds. What luxury!
Reviews average 77%, which puts Camping Bella Austria a couple of points behind others. However, it offers a great value holiday if you want a simple base for exploring the alps. The location is gorgeous with mountains looming over the site.
It's not awash with facilities but you do get an outdoor swimming pool and there's a restaurant for guests.
Your best option is to fly to Salzburg from the UK and then drive for a couple of hours. There is a closer airport called Klagenfurt but it's harder to find direct flights.
Price: £601 for a week in a 'Classic' holiday home. That price is for four people and is for a week in August 2025.
